Deimos
An unsettling air fragmented through his fingers, and he couldn’t help the restless toying of the glassy fixtures and figurines, because memories and past lives were voracious things even now. A beckoning, a clawing, of shadowy fixtures that once lingered on precipices and gathered the darkest layers possible, that haunted every eave and remained a daunting, overwhelming, bestial thing. Changed and altered, but still very much sequestered in his lungs, in his bones, in the marrow of who he was at the core – and his jaw clenched on reflex.
He arched his brow as Evie kneeled beside him, breathing in less restraint, as if he wasn’t purposefully choking the air out of his lungs with each passing moment.
