Looking for Strong Arms
Seeking several tough, street-smart, experienced hands for a job in Torchline. Must be discreet and take direction with no questions asked. Reputation among scavvers and merchants needed. Street cred a plus. Bring the tools of the trade and be ready to work.
Interested parties seek out Amanda Branford in the market district. You know who I am.
Amanda's reputation had been growing throughout the market district of late. She'd been all over the region lately, gathering rare materials from one corner of the land to another. She'd been working trades with alchemists, craftsmen, and even making offshore contacts with the merfolk. She was starting to become known as someone who could get things done, a reliable source for goods that were harder to come by. There was hardly a merchant or trader in the area that she hadn't made a deal with, even if it had meant taking a loss on the deal, just to make sure she raised her rep.
She was becoming well-known, but she was still small-time. Sure, she was developing a reputation, but she still had a lot of competition, and she just wasn't making enough profits to really hit it big. She needed a way to really establish herself. Something to make her name something to be respected.
So she'd gathered up a small crew of street toughs. She had a plan, and it was time to make her move, Torchline style. She had bought all the muscle she needed--a strong arm could usually be bought with little more than some ale and a hot meal. But she was still trying to get a few more capable folks who could do the serious work that needed to be done.
She leaned against the wall across the square from her target: a large, struggling shop known as The Swallow Trading Post. A stupid name. She'd be sure to rename it, once she drove the current owner, Donovan Oak, out of business...and she had taken the place over for herself.
She went over her mental checklist of what needed to be done. Donovan had a reliable reputation within Haulani, but he wasn't untouchable; his reputation would need to be smeared in order to drive customers away from his business. He also had three employees: Charlie, Tama, and Marin; they would need to be "convinced" to quit, either by getting them jobs elsewhere or making their current work environment too terrible to deal with. And finally, he would need to be driven into financial woe in order to make him desperate to sell; this would make it easy for Amanda to buy him out without it costing her everything she owned.
That meant she needed three teams, She could lead one herself, but she needed two reliable people to lead the other two teams. She just had to hope she could find some street-savvy, tough, and morally flexible people willing to do the work for what she could pay them.

Anyone who would like to help in the quest is welcome to join! Each participant will be in charge of a small group of street muscle NPCs who can help with their tasks. Due to the nature of the tasks, I'm assuming they won't be completed in a single in-game day, so tasks can be described as taking place over a number of days, depending on what makes sense.
You can start your post by meeting up with Amanda, and summarize her giving you your task, so that you can then jump into the task right away. You shouldn't expect to be working for free--Amanda has spent her entire time at CotF gathering valuables from all over the place, and will pay you handsomely for your work!
