Phoebe listened to Amanda's tirade in silence. There were glimmers of understanding. Hints of insight. But oh the conclusions were so, so wrong. Again the urge to smack her own face was nearly overwhelming. But she resisted once more and took a slow, deep breath in through her nose...then a slow breath out through her mouth. This was fine.
