From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!
Congratulations, Maea!

Skinning and hosting by the epically talented Kaons, and functionality fanciness by the coding magic of Neowulf. If you ever see either of them around, make sure to show them some love!
Anju concedes the point with a tilt of her head and a hum. Her own impatience and desire to impress at war with one another. "The captains would enjoy having more than trade routes on their docket I'm sure." Though they'd grumbled at Anju for months after the whole floating city debacle, things had settled down in the ensuing year, and most were aching for less boring routes and more entertaining passengers. "The Celestine is the most interesting," Anju says bluntly, having never cared for the library or church herself. "Tours are good for increasing interest in the city, but parties seem to be most favorable." Considering her expression swiftly takes on the likeness of curdled milk that has gained sentience - and found it lacking - Anju's opinion on parties is rather easy to determine. "Molly's and the Hart could be roped into helping with a street-based event."
Nodding severely as Lena confirms she will be more than okay, Anju lets the matter lie. "If you want to brush up your skills before you go, you know you are always welcome at the Nest." No matter how empty it may be these days with only Anju and non-Dragoon soldiers to occupy its halls.
hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul
Lena nodded along, no longer studying the flower petals, but conceding them to her basket for perusal and study later. Her hands grasped over some more valuable kindling instead, obliged to listen, pondering the state of affairs that was Stormbreak. “What kind of parties, do you think?” She wasn’t sure if the dragoon was the type to invest her wiles in such notions. “Frey is having a masquerade soon,” by a shrug of her shoulders, as if that was a typical route and pondering if they should hold something in the same stead. The world of stones and sagacity had never been much of a…cheery atmosphere.
But the Caretaker couldn’t help the inward grimace at the thought of stepping along the Nest again. Not one for violence, the infrequency of her ventures there were usually due to necessity than anything else – tending to a wounded soldier, or knowing she had to learn some measure of defense. “I must admit I’m not quite cut out for the Nest. But thank you for the offer.” Though they’d never deprived her of her meager, paltry attempts, baring her wooden weaponry against another was difficult at best.
and sings the tune without the words and never stops at all
The talk of parties sours her face further, clearly out of her depth but very aware of the events her fellow Dragoons had preferred back in the day. "Drinking. Dancing. Bar room games, and plenty of streetside sellers to alleviate the drunkards of their coin." At least they could stimulate the economy that way, even if Anju would rather perish on her own blade than dance.
So to say the least, Anju would not be going to Frey's masquerade.
A snort of some measure of humor escapes Anju. "A more comfortable place for you, then. Private sessions. If ever you want them." Leaving the offer there on the table for Lena to keep in mind for the future, Anju bundles up her finds with quick efficiency and looks back at the horizon. The next boat is descending slowly against the bright winter backdrop of sky. "Come, we can discuss the festival more as we walk back." If they were going to do this, Anju would reluctantly help spearhead it.
