Easy come, easy go, right Danta? Tiger-Zef huffed her annoyance when she realized her squeaky toy was nothing more than skin, bones, and slowly-cooling meat, and she didn't hesitate to take her annoyance out on the remains. Tearing the head off in her sizeable jaws, she crunched out her frustrations on the rock slider's skull as she headed back out without another look at Edmund. She wasn't a particularly patient woman, and the little exercise in team building and construction was starting to wear thin.

But there were other ways to entertain herself.

There were other molten tigers that roamed the Climb. She usually ignored them unless she was looking for a challenge, but there was a young male just setting out on his own...

Hardly a fair fight when she was fully grown and had him outclassed in brains and brawn both, but hopefully he'd last long enough to not bleed out before she dragged his body back to the arch.

Zef goes for a young molten tiger!

Off they go again, this time as interesting as the last. Dantalion has far greater luck. He successfully takes down his fyrhund and brings it back to the arch. The beast provides an ample amount of blood and soon the stones and bones begin to take on a red sheen as excess drips down in tiny waterfalls.

Zefira has mixed results. The young tiger is no match and is easily dispatched. However, the cub's nearby mother is less than pleased. As the Ancient carried her catch back, she's forced to deal with the female. The fight is brief and Zefira comes out on top, but not without a few deep scratches. When she adds the blood, it's not just the cubs anymore.

Edmund quickly devours his lial snack before setting out again.  This time he targets a gore crow, and with a quick leap into the air, manages to catch the bird mid-flight. It's a small offering but one that has a less chance of bleeding out. He successfully brings it back to bleed.

Between the three of them, the arch is sufficiently coated in blood, both that of beasts and Ancients (oops). The area surrounding the construction has darkened with the surplus of iron. How fitting that the arch be encircled in blood?

Edmund nods with satisfaction as he regards their work. "I think all that's left are the final touches. Maybe some last decorations or carvings. Whatever you want really. Something to invoke fear and awe in every trespasser."

Round 4! No post order.
Add some decoration/carving/whatever that will invoke fear and awe.

Hmph. Although she enjoyed the fight, the lingering pain afterwards was an annoyance that wrinkled her muzzle and resulted in a far messier addition of the cub to the arch - and not just its blood. Curling up to lick her wounds afterwards, the look she bestowed upon the little go-getter who kept having more bright ideas was that of a tigress who was no longer amused with his games.

She rose and padded over to the arch and then, with petty deliberation, she set her claws into the stones and began to scraaaaape down them, leaving deep scratches from broad paws. It served as a warning of what was around and a marking of her territory without the indignity of pissing on things.

And it also made a horrible sound to delight and entertain her compatriots. Or make their ears bleed. Zef didn't seem arsed either way, but when she was done she went back to putting her fur in order and dealing with her scrapes.

Zef stays in tiger form and leaves deep scratches on the arch with her big ol' paws.

Dantalion
but you can't be free
Danta is busy enjoying the drip of the blood from the archway when Edmund's final suggestions come through, the Ancient standing directly beneath its highest point with droplets of crimson freckling his face at intervals. "Mm?" He turns, distracted, just in time to hear Zefira's song of her people. Scrunching his face, he's nonetheless impressed with her addition.

His own is less impressive; reaching up, Danta scores a shallow cut across his wrist using his horns, pressing it to an as of yet unstained patch of the arch. With a soft murmur of prayer to their mother, he presses his forehead against the construction, considering their work done.

Edmund grimaces as Zefira makes her mark. Her point is taken, and he makes a mental note to avoid her in the future if he can. But her scratch marks add to the arch. Very artistic Zef. Excellent intimidation tactic on the youngest. Well done.

Dantalion's addition is subtle but no less powerful. Blood and a prayer to their Mother has Edmund nodding in approval. Not that Danta needs or want it.

Edmund steps up last and after a moment of consideration, climbs the arch to removes a single loose stone near the top, creating a small cubby. He adds a torch within it and with lights it. With a flash of fangs, he then cuts his palm and drips some of his own blood over the fire.

Climbing down, Edmund grins with satisfaction. "I think that does it." The arch is complete and between the blood covered stones, fire, bone, and scratch marks, it makes quite an impression. One he hopes is worthy of their Mother. He bows his head slightly at the monument and whispers, "For you, Mother. I hope you like it."

With that he turns to Dantalion and Zefira with a smile. "Thank you." Their task done, Edmund says goodbye and heads out so as not to antagonize Zefira further. She's scary.
