Dissatisfied with the lack of comprehension so far, Trinket continued exploring the festival. She cared not for the lights; her eyes were on the people. So many people, gathered to remember the dead. As if this pointless ritual could somehow bring them back.
Most of the people she passed were busy with their lanterns, or talking to the other people gathered together here. Boring. They all ignored her, too busy with their lanterns and their tears. She passed the uninteresting people by, searching for someone worth her attention.
Then she found someone interesting. A man perched in a tree. She walked over to the tree and looked up at him, tilting her head, studying him silently. He seemed to have no lantern. He was not interacting with the other people here. He seemed...out of place. Like Trinket herself.
After studying him for a long moment, Trinket stepped up to Dantalion, standing almost right under his tree branch. She held her doll against her chest, her neck strained as she looked up at the man in the tree.
"Why are you in a tree?" she asked Dantalion.
