It smelled them. It wanted them. It was going to eat them. The boar's lumbering run was surprisingly quick for all of the bizarre appendages that it possessed. As it reached the line of trees that cut against the flatness of the field, it came to awkward halt that nearly resulted in it falling over. In fact it sort of looked like someone flailing to a stop on ice, for part of its body twisted one way and it came to a standstill on an angle. Shaking its head(s) against the noise Koel was making, the beast groaned and verbally thrashed against the assault. But the boar was not a smart creature and it had come this far already. The sound was disorientating and painful, but its prey was right there. Two of them. Grunting, the boar made a blind dash for Koel. He was in a straight line after all, and as long as he didn't move (much) the boar wouldn't really need to worry so much about the way his eardrums were buzzing and threatening to burst. Even if they did, the creature was driven by instinct. |
