[PQ] [Magic Training] The Guilty and the Innocent

Noah felt a warm wave of satisfaction as his magic hit his intended target. That magic might be tapped now that the Sentinel has focused on using it to the threshold, but he still held within him more power that he could summon. His forward assault through the lightning did not phase him. He kept his determination strong. He had faced down dragons and the Core itself — Hotaru’s lightning stung and hurt, but it was nothing he hadn’t faced before.

He did not stop going for the woman even after she dodged. If he couldn’t get her down magically in the moment, he would start by taking her down physically. He started by grabbing an arrow from his quiver and firing it at her. His aim was so true and so careful despite the speed in which he moved. The aim was directly in front of Hotaru’s face — not to hit her, but hopefully to stop her assault on the mannequins.

Then, he thrust himself forward. He intended to push the woman down and knock her breath from her lungs, driving himself forward with his shoulder to hit her injured (though healing) shoulder. Then, he ignited his most powerful magic.

His celestial dome spread across the training field of the academy. Intending to cause damage to Hotaru, give vigor to Sah, and if the “citizens” were real they would have all received healing at a mastered level.

HOTARU

I know when you were little girls
You dreamt of being in my world

Everything happens very swiftly; Sah's shield works perfectly, Hotaru scantly deflects Noah's arrow, and as he takes her to the ground his celestial dome does the proper amount of damage to incapacitate the Valkyrie. Tapping the demigod's arm in proper tap out formation, Hotaru waits for him to release her before sitting up and dusting herself off, focusing on using her own healing magic a third time to begin reversing the effects of the various attacks. Standing is a process, but once she's back on her feet she uses her fire to melt the shield and begin evaporating the water across the room as she focuses on her two students with undeniable pride in her eyes.

"Wonderful job you two. Come in closer and we can go over what went well and what needs some improvement." Waiting for Sah to join them, the Valkyrie stretches her joints idly, unable to remain perfectly still in the wake of their battle as the adrenaline begins to fade. They have both succeeded today, and even as Hotaru begins a breakdown of advice and tips, she is deeply proud of them for it.
