The waters of the rainbow road came in many hues, but red was swiftly becoming predominant. Swift as the sharks were, they couldn't outswim Melita when she could sprint on top of the water at her full pace. They tried, of course; they couldn't stop themselves from chasing down what their instincts insisted was fleeing prey.

Unfortunately, they wouldn't live to learn from that mistake.

An electrified arrow took one straight through its gaping mouth as it rose above the waves and it sank, thrashing, not to resurface. Sila's fierce fire caught the rising dorsal fin of the second shark, searing its wet skin and startling it so that it dove away from the cause of the alien pain. That just left the third and final shark to leap out of the water towards the Honeybee, small but stupid mighty as it attempted to latch on to her leg.

Hadama had his own concerns underneath the waves. It took him several precious seconds to free his trident from his previous opponent while the other two hunters charged ever closer. In the end he couldn't bring the tines to bear in time and made do with muscling the weapon around and stabbing its sharpened butt into the lead shark's throat and up into its small, vicious brain.

The second echo shark swerved and came around its partner's body, but the detour gave Hadama just enough of a chance to let go of his trident's shaft with one hand and close his fingers into a fist, biceps and back muscles bunching and releasing in a no-nonsense punch to the predator's sensitive nose that left it dazed and retreating in pained confusion.

MELITA
The semblance of triumph lit its way through her features again, delightfully smug as electricity unraveled and fire descended. “Good work,” she commended her dragon, and the fledgling managed to nod, fostering that confidence through her shyness, overcoming some gentle ambience for vehemence.

But as the third one leapt for the Honeybee, Sila did most of the work – diving, diving, diving headlong in a maddening rush, jaws reaching out to snag at the beast. And while ivories enclosed, it wasn’t for long – enough to keep the shark off course.

Where it rampaged straight into the rock, stupidly, and fell back into the water.

“Wow,” was all Melita could muster, before snagging at another arrow to finish it off.

Stunned by its headlong crash into the rocks the shark offered no further mayhem or attempts to dodge the final arrow. Skewered quite handily, it took the last functional echo shark out of the running. A few remained alive, either stunned or blinded, but they were no more threat for the moment and likely wouldn't be one in the future even if they recovered from the mayhem unleashed on them this day.

Hadama, having dealt with his own portion of the pack, swam slowly upwards as the adrenaline coursed through him from the fight, breaking the surface and looking around until he spotted Melita on the nearby rocks. He cruised slowly towards her and Sila, nodding in satisfaction at the floating arrow-shot carcasses delineating her path. "Well done." He inclined his head in gratitude. A polite question followed, though he didn't see any wounds on his friend. "Are you hurt?" Given their successful hunt, perhaps a celebratory pastry was in order back in town...

MELITA
Melita coolly and casually shrugged her shoulders as the last of the daring fools was felled, eyes scanning the surface, unbothered and unsurprised when Hadama’s features broke through the wake. He’d managed to do some damage throughout the mini skirmish too, and she arched her brow, with the roguest of smirks, at his inquiry. “Not at all. You?”

Fangorn and Sila had managed to snag at least one of the sharks for their own raw feast, she presumed the gourd’s long vines had snatched one out of the water, causing the Honeybee to shake her head, but permitting the notions of a celebratory moment.

"Bruised knuckles," he admitted calmly and with a hint of slightly wicked satisfaction in the twitch of his lips towards a smile. "Nothing else." The dwarf sharks were nothing to take lightly in a pack, but they had been up to the challenge.

And the King had gotten in some of that speed and aiming practice he'd wanted, while making the coastline a little safer for his human subjects.

He glanced at the companions at their feast and nodded approvingly. Waste not, want not. And they had the right idea in another way. A reward was in order for services rendered to the region. "Have you been to the new teashop on Kokomo Canal?" Emerald eyes gleamed with mischief. "They make something called a 'beignet.' And some of them have fillings." Sweet or savory, deep fried into a fluffy donut pastry.

The King was happy to lead the way.
