Rexanna seemed to be a natural at posing, easily going to the couch and laying down, adjusting herself in such a way that she looked like a nymph reclining in some old classic, sat by the waters edge on a rock. Still, Bastien was a practised eye and there could always be improvements; he walked forward to just slightly adjust the angle of her leg, move the fit of her dress over her arm.
"There. Ah, Rexanna. You look as if you have dropped, golden and radiant, from the rainclouds underneath Heaven." With a smile and one last kiss pressed to her forehead, he went to begin his sketching. He worked in a light golden-yellow ink, blocking out the shapes of her body and the couch. Usually he tried to see a scene in the abstract, just colours and light to recreate, but it was hard when the subject was so thrilling to look at.
He only put in vague suggestions of an expression at first, but he kept it...pensive, thoughtful. Not sad, not quite, but it was hard to plaster a smile on a woman who had just told him stories of such abuse.
