That means a great deal to me, that you think so, though I might disagree about deserving it." He smile was lopsided when he raised his head to look at his friend again. "You, and Edy, and Rory, and Amalia... and Isla," he said the last name with a hint of sadness, "Have all become so much more to me than I thought I would have again. You are all important to me, and you should know that I care for you all." He glanced down at his tea, his smile taking on its more usual wry cast. "Even when I'm busy and terrible at checking up with you, you friendship is still something precious to me. And I want to thank you for that, Sam. For standing with me and supporting me even before we brought the Loreseekers together. I'm glad to have you by my side."
