Shrugging off the concern for her eyes with a disinterest that spoke more about avoidance than acceptance, Maea eyed the rapier with renewed interest. Something almost hungry came across her features as Jigano mentioned the adventures; paper wasps? And sentient books?
"No, he definitely skipped over those parts. I've heard nothing more about your meeting with Safrin either... yours and Amalia's" she amended, reluctantly acknowledging the woman's part in the story. It was not her intention to be bitter, or jealous; no doubt it had been more frightening than exciting or interesting, and yet she couldn't help the feeling of having been left out.
Which was of course ridiculous. She was here now, right? And Jigano was still kind, even with hands full of his own burdens to carry. Just because her ghosts made her feel weak and useless didn't mean she was, or that others thought of her like that.

"No, never. Never used a bow either... I call it hunting but I really only set traps. Or threw rocks with my ability." Neither of which took much strength or skill, only time and patience.
Weak. Powerless to do anything.
