Ronin revived me. So maybe he’s getting the ire from her of my still being here.” How much easier would it have been if Ronin hadn’t done that, though?

But he puffs out a sigh and finishes off the drink he’d snagged when she takes the shot, only to stare at her dumbly when she tells him that Jack wants to go to the Grounds. And maybe it’s the alcohol and the fact he still doesn’t have glass in his gut that makes him more brazen to act like normal around her. Especially because his first thought is “what the fuck’s in the Grounds? He has a whole ocean here.”
They can agree on that sentiment, though, that the Grounds was a horrible idea.
