Turning back, Noah scooped up his daughter in much the same way. Unlike her brother, she did twist and moan as her father disturbed her. Noah shushed her lovingly and gently as he took a seat in the second rocking chair. He brought her up close to his chest so she could feel and hear his heartbeat. Once the warmth of her father and the thump of his heart overwhelmed her, she settled with gentle cooing sounds.
