Jude
Let me uncover the silver in your dark hair
The weight of your bones
Hadama's assistance is exactly what the job needed, and Jude flashes the man a grateful smile, warmer and more familiar than previous iterations given he knows the Mer a little better. This - all of it, really - is still rather out of his wheelhouse of comfort, but he can't hide away forever, and he knows that. No matter how badly he'd like to become a hermit somewhere in the Oerwoud some days.

But there is work yet to be done, even if the restaurant is looking leagues better by now. George tackles the dishes, so Jude begins working on the furniture he and Hadama had pried apart - soaking chair seats and wiping up table legs, happy to use his more agile body to get into strange shapes the others might find uncomfortable.

Jude cleans the furniture!
I want to witness the beauty of your repair
the shape in which you've grown

A defensive hand was sufficient shield to catch the last spray of webbing towards poor George 's face, and Flora's employee managed to get away without further indignities from his eight-legged adversary. Fresh as it was, that webbing was easily scrubbed off and then he was able to turn his hands to the plates. A combination of soaking, spray, and scrubbing soon had the plates and glasses shining again - just as Jude was finishing up his task.

The work was harder for the younger man, but his flexibility did indeed allow him to tackle not only the top surfaces of the furniture, but also to crawl underneath and get the webs that had drifted below the tables, ensuring that things wouldn't get re-stuck together as soon as they pushed the chairs under them. With some serious elbow grease brought to bear and liberal application of their coconut spray, Jude had the furnishings ready for use once more.

Hadama had swum into the water-side curve of the little kitchen area, reaching for the store of wood in its dry box and carefully striking flint and steel to create sparks. His eyes gleamed with interest as the sparks caught kindling and began to burn - and then suddenly flared up, catching the dangling remains of the webbing in the chimney and racing upwards in a swift but brief conflagration. He added more wood as the flames began to die down and let it burn the rest of the webs to charcoal. Eventually satisfied that the oven had been thoroughly cleansed with fire, he turned his attention to the cupboards that had been so recently cleaned and began choosing ingredients for a celebratory brunch. "Omelettes, made to order," he rumbled to the humans who had been kind enough to help in his time of need. "And hashbrowns. With fresh fruit on the side. There is water, or fruit juice. Or coffee?" Emerald eyes slanted briefly to George, curious as to his preferences as large hands deftly cracked eggs into a pan and began selecting fresh fruits, vegetables, and cured meats for potential inclusion into the omelettes, depending on what each man requested.

Now that they had finished working it was time to rest, and eat, and relax a bit before the cafe officially reopened for the day and the men went their separate ways.

This concludes the PQ to clean up spider webs with new people! Thank you for participating!
