Edmund's eye twitches at the unexpected screams. He never knew spiders could make noise, much less ones like that. There's hardly time to process that revelation as the entire web catches fire. "Oops", the young Ancient mumbles just as Dantalion bursts in. Edmund works to call the fire to his palms, trying to fuse it into a single flame that he can carry out of the shop.

As he works his magic, he throws a glance at his fellow Ancient. Annoyed and feeling slightly guilty he bites out, "I wasn't aware that arson was strictly a nighttime activity." Edmund's eyes widen, and he slaps a hand over his mouth in shock. "I mean...sorry. Just.. help?"

She hoists the board and slams it down against the VlamVloed’s entrance, and as she pulls the board back is quietly pleased to see the squished remnants of the arachnids as she peers into the rest of the space. There’s webbing everywhere, and rather than trying to cut through the webs, the Harpy has a different plan, one that keeps her from tossing the board onto the ground to continue.

Mostly, just to be sure she doesn’t get it all over her hands or hair, she uses the very same board with the cloud spider corpses to try and collect the rest of the webs like it’s some kind of terrible witchy cotton candy.

Two little spiders die beneath their hand, but one little spider escapes.

Crouched beneath a table isn't exactly the best way to start a hunt, but Ophelia has little concern for looking graceless or stupid, even if the empty building was otherwise occupied. Scurrying forward on their knees in an awkward little shuffle, pale eyes light up with focus and predatory delight at the new challenge presented.

Their hand slaps at the spider, hoping to either crush it before it can crest the edge of the table and emerge onto the top where they can't reach it, or knock it down to the floorboards where Phi can more readily access it for smooshing-opportunities.

"Oho, someone's spicy today." Of course Danta finds Edmund's quip funnier than anything, the Ancient strolling into the (sort of fiery) space to help subdue the flames. They might only grasp the basics when it comes to fire manipulation, but luckily on this occasion, numbers do the same job as skill might, and together the two manages to snuff out the accidental arson.

As for Kiada and Ophelia, the former ends up with a wad of webbing speckled with spider corpses (lovely) and the latter finally achieves victory by whapping the last spider onto the ground and splatting it with their palm. All in all, it's great success!, and when Danta emerges from the fortune teller's, brushing his palms off on his coat, his smug smile reflects as much.

"Well, the place is still empty, but it's better than it was," he figures. "Thanks for helping."

And we're done - spiders successfully subdued! Thanks, guys! <3
