Amalia A simple smile can change a day An understanding look can say I know exactly how you feel She was born during LongNight. Amalia cannot help the darkness which crosses her angular face, but it is quickly replaced by a pained look of empathy as she returns her attention to the child. "We share a birthday," she murmurs softly, letting her finger brush across the baby's foot. Glancing at Remi again, her face is sympathetic and curious, but for once she bites her tongue. "My grandmother used to say that babies born in LongNight are sun rays sent to guide us back into spring." She has never believed it, personally, but it was a nice thing to hold onto. "Though I think starlight would be more accurate in your case, hmm?" Amalia knows something of holding onto history, guarding hardship and trying, trying, always trying to push on. Rising up reluctantly, Amalia regards the man. Their first meeting had been... strained, to say the least, complicated and challenging with harsh words and raised voices. She is grateful for the chance to start anew, the unspoken forgiveness in his spring-green gaze. "I'm Amalia," she says, then blushes as she realizes he probably knows this already. Stepping back from the pair, she clears her throat and pulls at her apron, suddenly not sure what to do with her hands. "You, ah, came for food- what can I get you today?"
