At last the fox relaxes, and Amalia whuff's her happiness, swatting now with the other large paw, deadly claws carefully sheathed. When he leaps upon her she cries out in surprise, mewling excitedly but not quite moving, the black eyes solemn as they gaze upon the fox. His sudden comfort is a message that does not need words, and though it fills her with excitement, the excitement is clouded by nerves and doubt. He knows her. He knows her.
