There was no answer.

There was no breath. No heartbeat.

No life.

Arms wrapped with tender strength around the body of his friend, Hadama bent his head and let the tears gather in the corners of his eyes, though they were immediately washed away by the water that surrounded him.

The pulse drove a beat like the rising tide through his ears once.

Twice.

When he raised his head again his eyes were sapphire blue beneath his steely brows, and his jaw was clenched tight against an unshed cry. From within the shield of ice he gathered his sorrow and his anger and gave them physical form with his magic, creating pellets of icy hail that he flung like bullets into the glowing antlers of the being that had slain his friend.

Hadama stays inside his ice shield from last round and uses his water manipulation to create a shower of hail bullets that he flings against the solid antlers of the Dreamwalker.

Water manipulation: Can create and control water. Must be within a 30ft radius.

Strike two for Tal - maybe Mort and Vi are out on a picnic together or something? Either way, Ludo is present to answer the Channelling telephone, and it appears not with a pop! or a whisper, but with a faint sound of meowing. The explanation is obvious, it hopes, given that it's adorned with the kitty-cat mask Talyson had brought it once as an offering (the mask goes over its usual mask, duh).

"Begone, fiend!" it shouts towards the Dreamwalker, since, you know, Ludo is the one who's whole thing is about memories and dreams and whatnot, and this is just rude. A raggedy tendril points towards the haze of horned madness, sending out the spiritual equivalent of a thousand claws (cat claws, obviously) to rake over its form.

LUDO
Braved the forests, braved the stone
Braved the icy winds and fire
Braved and beat them on my own

The Dreamwalker, its form ever-shifting and enigmatic, reacted to the unfolding chaos in the Oerwoud with an eerie grace. It witnessed Talyson 's pleas and prayers, a mortal caught in the crossfire of celestial indifference, and a glimmer of amusement danced within its ever-changing eyes. But the entity's tranquility was short-lived as Sah summoned a tempestuous storm, imbued with the elements of air, water, and lightning. This time, the Wild Thunder's attack found its mark, and the Dreamwalker convulsed under the tempest's relentless assault.

Amidst the chaos, Hadama, consumed by grief and anger, sought vengeance for Ray's untimely demise. However, his vision was obscured by the icy shield he had created to protect himself and Ray. His projectiles of icy hail, though propelled with intensity, missed their mark, leaving the Dreamwalker untouched.

And then, a meowing sound cut through the ether, and Ludo appeared, donned in a feline mask that added a peculiar layer of absurdity to the ethereal confrontation. With resolute determination, Ludo unleashed a barrage of spectral claws upon the Dreamwalker, a manifestation of memories and dreams that had dared to intrude upon the Oerwoud's mysteries.

In the midst of this otherworldly assault, the Dreamwalker's form faltered, its luminous antlers quivering. It let out a sound that was neither a cry of pain nor a sigh of resignation but rather an echo of something ancient and profound. The spectral claws of Ludo's attack raked through the entity's form, and with a final, shimmering burst of dreamdust, the Dreamwalker unravelled into a breathtaking display of luminescent colours.

Its ethereal form dissolved into a cascade of dreamdust, and all that remained were the glowing antlers, hovering in the air for a brief moment before gently settling upon the frost-kissed ground. The jungle around them seemed to exhale a collective sigh, and the air was imbued with an otherworldly tranquillity, as if the Oerwoud itself had acknowledged the passing of this enigmatic entity.

The Dreamwalker has been slain, leaving behind the following:

DreamWalker Shed | A pair of glowing antlers. These can be crafted into something by a God
DreamtDust | Dreamdust from the DreamWalker itself. Can be crafted by a God to add additional damage to an item.

Tal's mouth dropped open at the appearance of none other than his most exciting quest-giver, who swooped in with feline grace upon the cat-astrophe unfolding in the Oerwoud. "Thanks, Ludo!" he called out, with more fervent sincerity than he'd used in awhile as the masked god saved his whiskers.

There was storm, and ice, and general confusion as the bewildering being succumbed to wounds of magic and divinity, falling to the jungle floor not unlike that poor Attuned had fallen. A quick glance around revealed--

Well, not much. The Mer had retreated under the water with the woman's body, apparently, but he didn't seem hurt so Tal turned his attention to Sah, bumping his frenemy's shoulder with his own to disguise the trembles of reaction that were starting to shiver through him. "Not bad, Jester," he mumbled gruffly, counting every blessing and then some that neither of them had been hurt. "We gotta work on your aim though!"

As they headed over to examine the remains his eyes were drawn to a pile of oddly glowing dust. He paused and knelt, scooping it up into his hand and measuring it through his fingers thoughtfully before pouring it into a bag for later.

yet my blood renders me a King
Ludo appears and the Dreamwalker vanishes, seemingly deceased. Sah's honestly not sure if it's truly dead or not. It felt more like a spirit or entity than a beast capable of true death. It was too connected to the Oerwoud.

Once it seems like the danger has truly passed, Sah glances at the mer with a solemn expression. The man's grief is plain to see. If he knew Hadma better, the Wild Thunder would walk over and give his condolences. As it is, he's brought out of his melancholy at Tal's nudge. Snickering, he throws an arm over his frenemy's shoulder and gives the shorter man a slight squeeze, "Sure. How about you try to fight a storm with another one first? Then we can see how well you aim."

Talyson grabs the dust and with open curiosity, Sah takes the antlers. Their glow is far too appealing to ignore.

His attack was ineffective, but in the end it was only his pride that was wounded as the other men and god slew the ephemeral being, laying it low almost as swiftly as it had cut Ray down. Feeling neither victory nor relief but only a deep, aching loss Hadama bowed his head within his icy shield, pressing his brow to the crown of Ray's head as his tears mingled silently with the water.

His magic faltered and finally failed, the ice breaking apart and floating away, and by the time he raised his head again the others had gone. He surfaced long enough to collect his friend's belongings, using his magic to manipulate water and ice into doing his bidding as he was unwilling to let Ray's body go for even that short task.

Then, wordless and heartsick and hollow, the mermanta turned and began the long swim to Torchline where he would lay his friend to rest.
