The the hearth, chimney, and room all cleaned and ready to go, Noah built a fire. He was swift, and barely had to think, as he worked through the motions. Noah had nearly built more fires than he had taken breaths in his life. This wasn't second nature, it was first. Halovians who couldn't build fires didn't live -- and Noah had lived a long time, so far.

When he finished, he packed up his cleaning tools and placed them in the wagon. Noah didn't know where to get furniture, nor really how to make it (save for the one piece he ever made, a bassinet). Thus, he followed Alys and let the Grounder-turned-Halovian lead the way. She paid for delivery and Noah offered her more to replenish what she spent. He didn't want to send her away having spent her last coin.

Alys was known by the shop owner and the Forsaken's presence had become a source of help and solace to many Grounders, so they were able to get a good deal on the furniture without needing to haggle. It wasn't quite a gift, but the shopkeep was clearly proud to be able to say that a demigod had purchased items from his store, and Alys would pay a great deal less than she'd expected.

While they did that, Tal hoofed it back to the Peregrine to retrieve some things he'd brought from Halo: a hammock, a ningo-feather pillow, and several warm, thick blankets to ward off the chill in the colder months. He had a lighter load but had to go farther to get it, so they ended up returning around the same time to add the final touches.

A cozy table and chairs gave the back room a sense of comfort, so Tal (or whoever ended up manning the station while he was out on deliveries) would have a place to relax and eat a meal. Up the stairs in the loft, the hammock was hung to take advantage of the rising heat and staying out of the way of the business below when he was crashing overnight. There was even a special blanket for Boreal, thick and fluffy and tucked into an ursur-leather protective duvet to keep her scales and talons from tearing it.

Stepping back to look at it from the downstairs, it looked like a downright cozy little shop, and Tal grinned proudly as he painted the words on the wooden sign and had Noah hang it over the door.

"You guys are the best!"
