Deimos was used to a crowd of his own soldiers; familiar crowing, beckoning, teasing, and encouragement – the multitudes nearby simply put him further on edge. As if something was damned and due to be a spectacle, and the Sword had never been one for such demonstrations; could feel his spine rankling, chest taut, jaw tensed and locked, and only a few breaths allowed to pass through his lungs as he continued to study and examine.Willing to teach was another notion altogether; he’d already strived to do so and clearly nothing had happened or changed in those parameters, so he half-wondered if there was a point in the venture. Mulishly contorting through planned words, the rest of the Dragoon’s statement didn’t make him feel much better – because if they’d never even permitted magic, surely there wasn’t going to be much of a counter for it.
Another long held sigh slipped through his ribs, and were he not someone so apt at control, there might’ve been hackled raised. Instead, it was steel, lined and forged, in the breadth of his existence and the course of his voice. “Do you have a way to shield yourself?” Because as tempting as it was, the Warden wasn’t about to shoot multitudes of fireballs at Koa without some inclination he could dodge them – or had some semblance of a plan. Though the mental image alone was satisfying.
