A great deal had changed since Harper and Hadama had appealed to Safrin for her aid in creating a Lucky Rum Fountain in the Port.

Both Harper and Safrin were gone from Torchline, for one, and more changes were on the near horizon.

It was time and past time to turn his attention to the defense of his home, but while political upheaval had shaken the coast he had navigated the currents with caution. Perhaps too much caution, but now the disparate pieces had been gathered in the place they had chosen. Volcanic stone and purified water and baskets of sugar cane, collected in a courtyard near the docks and awaiting divine blessing.

His faith was strong. Hadama had chosen the lighthouse for his prayer, hoping it would reach his goddess no matter the distance. If she did not answer, then he would seek another way. But first he paid homage to the light that shone in the darkness, rising from the waves and bowing deeply at the edge of sea and stone. A large candle of pure beeswax, dyed deep blue and spangled with silver, was withdrawn from a map case on his back, and he focused intently on striking a waterproof match to set the flame. A small light beneath the bright panoply of stars overhead, but it burned steadily.

"Safrin. It is done. On Torchline's behalf, I ask your blessing on our new fountain. And then we may begin fortifying against the threat you are facing."

Quest: Exotic Flow

Tasks. There is no time limit. There are currently 13 active Torchers. This means 7 unique characters have to participate. Characters can participate more than once. Hadama and Harper must participate in at least 2 threads each.

A PQ with at least 1 of the merfolk preparing an area for the fountain, keeping in mind the potential disturbances the fountain might have to the skyport and regular docks
{PQ} {RQ} A little to the left
Hadama, Harper, Andromeda

A thread with at least 3 Torchers collecting sugar cane from the Oerwoud
{PQ} {RQ} Sweet Violence
Melita, Jack, Edmund

A PQ with at least 1 of the merfolk collecting and purifying enough water to fill a fountain
{PQ} It's clean, it's clear, it's pure
Hadama, Harper, George

A thread with at least 3 Torchers collecting volcanic rock from Apopo to build the fountain with.
{RQ} make the ashes
Melita, Flora, Jude

An ME to decide what sort of rum the fountain should have! I.e., White, Dark, Spiced, etc.
{Mini Event} {RQ} Liquid courage
- White Rum!
Spooky Rags

ludo

Braved the forests, braved the stone
Braved the icy winds and fire
Braved and beat them on my own

"IT IS I, SAFRIN. STAR LADY OF THE STARS."

And so Safrin appears.

These days one might say she's looking a little worse for wear; instead of celestial majesty, it's a raggedy god with some cut-out stars hastily taped to the fabric. Instead of ethereal beauty, it's a porcelain mask with clumsily applied eyelashes and lipstick.

It... it's Ludo, okay? It's Ludo.

"CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR... waitwhatwasit... AH YES, YOUR RUM FOUNTAIN. IT IS VERY NICE."

And indeed, in Kaiholo Port, a majestic fountain will appear just as Safrin might have built. And if, near the bottom of the stone, someone has carved LUDO WOZ HERE, well, what of it?

Torchline has completed its RQ and has received the following!

Lucky Rum Fountain | Blessed by Safrin, this fountain in Kaiholo Port overflows with white rum instead of water. During PQs/PQ+/KQs/Drops/Shrine Visits receive +2 luck in the Kaiholo Port board . (In order to use this, make sure to note the ability at the bottom of each post).

Hadama blinked and raised his head.

To say he looked somewhat... nonplussed might be an understatement. Of all the possible responses to his prayer, it was safe to say that this particular one - in all its taped-star glory - had not been particularly high on his list. Indeed, it had not only not been on his list, it had in fact been in a different notebook entirely three towns over, where a young man wrote down his dreams on the nights when he had eaten cheese particularly late.

But the mermanta was not one to neglect courtesy just because his brain had momentarily frozen in shock. "Thank you, Lu... Sa... ah. Hm. ...Thank you," he recovered, trying to restore a little of his dignity at being caught so flat-finned. "On behalf of Torchline." He bowed deeply from the water, for respect was never amiss when dealing with a god. Goddess. Deity of any persuasion. "We may need all the luck we can get."
