From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!

Sah let out a growl when the ursur moved, avoiding his daggers. Noah missed as well, and then the bear was sinking into the earth. Part of the Abandoned wanted to channel his earth magic to increase the pit's depth and further trap the bear. The other part of him was wary of missing the currently presented opportunity to strike. If he failed in his earth manipulations, there was a chance that the bear would escape before he could attack.
Making up his mind, Sah let the most familiar of his magics rise up. Lightning raced beneath his skin and flickered into existence along his hands and upper arms. With a furrowed brow, the Wild Thunder sent a bolt of lightning down onto the ursur, hoping that it would land and zap the bear.

It might’ve been quite a spectacle, had they not been immersed in the chaos themselves. The Sword’s consternation came from his higher vantage point though, watching as the ursur had begun to figure out how to claw its way from the hole, shouting a warning through the bond that he wasn’t certain Noah would oblige. Get out of there. He shot a measure of ice shards thereafter, straight into the massive beast’s back, and it roared, irritated, annoyed, paws digging out over the pit.
The Forsaken’s close proximity did make for an accurate plunge of abilities – the Vi’s ranger and Divine Opposition billowing blow for blow into the animal – though it only served to further irritate it.
Clambering out of the makeshift hole, it bolted forward, and swiped at the Forsaken – it’s humongous paws and claws would ensure quite a beating – along with wrenching Noah tossed aside like a ragdoll.
Sah and his lightning, unfortunately, misaligned on time and accuracy, striking the ground behind the bear – though it served as a decent distraction, turning its attention away from Noah and back towards those on the wall.

Deimos has hit the ursur with Mastered Water.
Noah has hit the ursur with his arrows and divine opposition, but also has been hit and knocked aside by the ursur.
Sah has missed.
No post order! The ursur is out of the pit and the wall can still take three more hits.
His magic did its work and the ursur felt the pain of Vi's wrath, and for that alone, Noah was satisfied. The claws came for him and the ursur's sheer strength sent Noah rolling across the tundra. He felt the air leave his lungs as he smacked against the ice, but having been in similar crises before, it did not take long for the Forsaken to be scrambling. He had been here many times before, and he didn't need Deimos prompting to tell him he needed distance between him and the void-touched bear. He got to his feet so fast it was a blur, pushing down the pain that smarted in his side and the limp that would surely come, and ran. His teleportation magic still needed time to charge, to this was his option.
He ran, but he knew he couldn't run too far. He needed to stay in range to be able to use his magic. So he did, he pushed to the last second. He might not be able to do much more, but Noah could always shoot. He always had, and before this celestial power ran through his veins it was only with wooden bows and arrows and sharpened metal ends. With a prayer, Noah prepared himself. Turning, Noah aimed and shot at the void ursur.
Noah tries to get some distance between him and the ursur then turns and shoots it. Using his Citizenship Ability to "ignore" any slippery ground/ice.
Halo has hardened you against her weather and her terrain. Once per PQ/PQ+/KQ/Drop, you can ignore an environmental effect that would otherwise hinder you (rough terrain, cold, wind, etc). Sah's lightning missed but it was a relief that it provided brief cover for Noah. The Wild Thunder's eyes widened with horror when his friend was sent sprawling. Snarling, the Abandoned channeled his fear and anger into power. With a shoving motion, he sent a wave of telekinesis and air at the bear in an attempt to force it further away from Noah, praying to Safrin as he did so. Best case scenario, he'd knock it off of its paws too. But getting the corrupted beast away from his friend was the goal.
Noah had to survive this. There was no other option.

The bedlam rambled and rampaged, and the Sword could only watch as celestial arrows flew, Noah ran, Sahlifted the bear, and the configurations became wholly bizarre but manageable. The Forsaken’s performance was certainly something to witness – and though he missed in all the haste, what mattered more was that he was out of range of the bear’s wide, sweeping paw – due to his haste, but also his allies.
The Wild Thunder’s accuracy had been less than precise over the antics of the ursur, but now it honed and sharpened, lifting the massive creature away from Noah’s realm – and it might’ve been amusing to watch the facial expression of the beast had they not been been busy doing other things. It only lasted for a few seconds, but that’s all that was needed, paws paddling mid-air and not clawing anyone to death.
Which left Deimos the opportunity to strike more and more shards into the bear – a tremendous roar shook the earth, and it tore for the wall this time, clearly intending to climb up, wounds and all.

Noah has missed with his attack but dodged the bear’s attack.
Sah has lifted the bear away from Noah.
Deimos has shot the bear with ice shards.
The bear is headed for the wall. No post order. It can still withstand three attacks.
His shots missed, but his friends did not. Relief flooded over him as he watched the bear be lifted off the ground and away from him. Meanwhile, he felt the familiar click within him that alerted him his magic was ready again. Drawing it, Noah teleported and reappeared with Sah and Deimos.
Then he drew again, celestial arrows at the ready, aiming to shoot the bear in the head as it tried to climb up, up, up the wall despite the flowing, pulsing, violently purple blood that now dripped from its body due to its various wounds. Noah's own body was screaming with pain and fatigue, but he knew he couldn't stop until the ursur was dead. Noah had faced death more times than he could count, and he would always go down fighting to the last breath.
Relief flooded, too, over the Forsaken's companions. The unicorn, without hesitating, reached out to touch his horn to Noah and offer healing. With renewed vigor with in him, Noah readied his Divine Opposition to ignite should the bear not fall from this barrage.
Noah teleports back to where Sah and Deimos are, shoots, and Vi'dore comes up to heal him. He readies his Divine Opposition (this is its last cool down post) so it will activate if the bear does not die this round.

Vi'dore healing: "their horns have minor healing abilities (healing abilities count as roughly 'upgraded healing' magic and is tied to the abandoned's endurance stat." :: Upgraded form: Heals wounds at upgraded level.

Sah had to blink as his magic lifted the bear, and he let out a heavy sigh as it gave Noah the opening he needed to escape. Deimos' ice stuck the bear, much to the satisfaction of the Wild Thunder. The Forsaken quickly readied himself for another attack so Sah did the same.
Letting the sky darken slightly, the Abandoned called down a series of lightning strikes down onto the ursur. He didn't doubt the unicorns' healing capabilities, but they needed to finish this fight as soon as possible. Their position was far too unstable and the ursur was only growing more enraged.

Rapid movements, shapes, and motions fueled through the denizens again and again. Noah teleported, arranging himself upon the wall and in relative safety – his unicorn somehow clambering up as well and healing him. While other actions might have taken place, there wasn’t enough time to follow up on arrows or precisions –
Which left it down to Deimos and Sah. The Sword benefitted from a lack of trepidation now – the Forsaken was back alongside them – and now only the ferocity of his remaining abhorrence engaged with the tactics at play. Instead of opting for his ice shards again, he pulled and twisted the knife of his life drain, extending the intangible threads to bite, gnaw, and smote away portions of the bear as it strived to climb.
But it’d be no use – for no sooner had the Warden done his damage, Sah followed up – a blistering course of lightning igniting the sky, and pulverizing, piercing, into the creature’s sides. It never had a chance to get any closer – for with a dying roar, it fell upon the wall, and then slid down, ungracefully, to remain with the rest of its constituents.
Deimos let out another long, low sigh as everything around them stilled. “Well done again,” he noted, feeling like an echo, but meaning it all the same. “You all right?” he extended to Noah, but having no healing of his own, he could only reassure Zuriel down below (as she made her way around) that everything was fine. Belial soared above, and the most bizarre semblance of peace settled into the void.
Giving them all a moment to calm themselves down from the fractious activity, he murmured into their small space. “We should set these on fire too.”

Noah felt the relief of the battle between the Halovians and the ursurs ending with a slump to his shoulders and an exasperated breath pressing out of his lungs. He stepped back for a moment and leaned against Vi'dore's strong shoulder. The unicorn lowered his head again, sending another pulse of healing magic through his side. "Yeah, I'm fine." Noah said, forcing a smile to break over his face as he looked from Deimos to Sah.
With two rounds of healing, Noah was feeling more vigorous and thus was able to climb down from the wall to assist in the unceremonious funeral pyre for the void creatures. As they burned the bodies, Noah was able to do an internal assessment as the adrenaline from the hunt wore off. "Their attacks were different. It wasn't just like a normal ursur hitting hard and slicing with claws. It made me cold, too. Colder than my jacket from Frey could protect from." He said, eyes moving between each of his friends to gauge their reactions.
Sah watched with vindicative satisfaction as the ursur that had so deeply threatened the life one of his loved ones fell dead to the Wild Thunder's lightning. He nodded at Deimos, "You too." Turning on his heel, he scanned Noah's condition. The tension left the Abandoned as he watched the Demi-god's wounds stitch together. "Good." Although brief, the word was heavy with relief.
Jumping down to begin burning the bodies with his fire magic, Sah listened as Noah explained what he'd experienced. "That's disturbing." His concern returned, and the Abandoned tilted his head with a furrowed brow, "Are you feeling any lingering effects? Do you need anything?" Sah was once more grateful that his armor had prevented the void creatures from actually harming him.

The pyre roared, and Deimos listened. Between the chaotic semblances of their venture, there was still information to be had, and Noah’s responses to the assault made his eyes narrow. It hadn’t been unlike previous instances with other void figures amidst the tundra, and he’d utilize it for future information to hand out amidst Halo’s wares.
Eventually though, the fire faded, the ashes spread, and they could head home – accomplished, but with all the sentiments in back of their mind of further, necessary endeavors. “We can head back,” he murmured to the rest, and they could continue their conversations from there – with vivid and stark reminders of newfound perils lodged in their heads.
