There was warmth and strength at his side as Rory leaned into him and the slightly anxious part of Jigano that had worried - too little, too late - after he had made the gesture was soothed as they stood together to admire the gifts Rexanna had made. He relaxed a little further at the humor in the hunter's voice, the thawing of the daze that seemed to have overtaken him at Rexanna's approach, and he chuckled at the wry observation, nodding his head in agreement - but utterly without remorse for the design choice.

He could feel the caution still in his companion's body, the wary tension of an animal eased down from fleeing but still too shy to trust. Rather than try to force a rapprochement that he had no part in, he instead tried to distract the conversation to something else - that, and he was genuinely concerned for Rexanna, friend that she was. He grimaced at her description of how Lucas had treated her, though given the Ascended's state when he'd emerged from the Spire, the lorekeeper wasn't entirely surprised that he'd lost control. Leaving Rex behind afterwards, though, making no attempt to get her help... well. It didn't do the man's reputation any favors, however cordial his one-on-one encounters with Lucas had been.

"Phoebe sounds very skilled," the bard agreed, pleasantly neutral on that topic with the weather so fine and friends around him. He was still wearing one of her flower crowns, after all, and saw no reason to borrow trouble when the young girl had proved such a help to Rexanna. He was glad, too, that Rory seemed to be genuinely - if shyly - offering his well wishes to the dark-haired beauty. "Perhaps Vai or Devrum can take a look, if you run across them today?" he suggested. "Might speed the recovery a bit, to have a magical healer nudge things along a little faster. And it wouldn't be the first time Vai has patched us up," he added wryly. And it might help prevent any scarring of her lovely skin. At least her radiance didn't seem to be much dimmed in spite of the bruising.

Seeking a more harmless topic, his eyes lit upon a nearby stall and his grin returned beneath laughing blue eyes. "Have you tried the grilled Magna Vermis yet? It's quite tasty!" As he seemed to recall, he had been the only one snacking on the fireworks-seared wormflesh when they had met at the oasis!
