A price worth paying

The stars created by the lantern seem to blaze and flicker for a moment, creating shadows which dance and twirl in the shrine around fox and gryphlet. It is a serene moment, one in which distant music may be heard, one in which there is a sensation of being not alone, of being loved, of being wrapped in peace... But the soul guide does not answer this evening. The winds of change have torn through the Hollowed Grounds, and Ludo has spent much to shepherd centuries of souls to their final resting place. Tonight, even the promise of warm fur and soft scritches cannot rouse it from its rest.
