I shouldn't laugh, but I know I'm a failure in your eyes
"I know you would. And I'm starting to think that as well, but I still forgive you." Ronin's smile is kind, and as his husband shrinks to mischievous and fluffy proportions, he's there to scoop him up into the blanket. At this size and with a great deal of fur between them even without the shield of fabric, Ronin can feel nothing but the warmth and (minor) weight of the blankety raccoon in his arms.

"Things will be alright," he says, his voice warm with the vow, and the Nova settles himself down in both of their prior spots. Curling around the mess of blankets that somewhere contain his husband, he coaxes his muscles back into relaxation. It's neither as complete nor abundant as when he was pressed against Remi, but it will absolutely do.

"I'm sorry for waking you," he adds softly.
