Feigning offense on his own behalf, Ru pinches lightly at his cheek, aghast. Even if she had not been simply ruffling his feathers for the fun of it, his assurance that the region is hers to spread her wings within is enough to have her smiling, preening up into the kisses he presses to each corner of her lips. Until he swallows up her smile completely - though it was always his to begin with - and stokes the embers of a far different emotion in its place.
Her arms come up around his neck, fingers threading through his hair as all thought of food dissolves like sugar beneath the heat of his murmured words.
