A small fraction of the knotted worry in the courier's chest eased as Ellyra gave him her reassurance and support. They were both worried about their friend and dealing with that worry in different ways, but knowing that someone else was in the same boat he was - helpless, confused, and worried - weirdly helped.
It probably shouldn't have, but it did.
"Yeah, should prob'ly be headin' back anyways," Tal agreed, relieved that some of the awkwardness was past. At least they knew they had each other to rely on while they looked for the lost Heart. "Just need t'swing by th'post office on th'way." He looked over his shoulder to where his companion had succeeded in burning the immediate area clear of Void-touched plants and gave a whistle, bringing the burly dragon over to join them as they headed towards the Docks.
And away from Stormbreak for a little while.
