The Furnace - Rules

The Furnace is a vast expanse of hard-packed white earth that stretches in every direction, its surface cracked into thin, spidery patterns that crunch underfoot, with no sand or loose soil to disturb. The land is completely flat and open, offering no shelter or elevation, and the horizon sits far and uninterrupted except for faint, distant silhouettes that never seem to draw closer. Scattered across the ground are sun-bleached skeletons of varying sizes, from small animal remains to larger ribcages and skulls, all preserved by the intense, dry heat. The air shimmers constantly, warping the distance with mirages that suggest movement or shape but never resolve, leaving the entire area exposed, disorienting, and impossible to navigate by sight alone.

The Sandgate
The northern edge of Hak Etme meets the Spillwave Sea at a weatherworn, makeshift port where a handful of crooked wooden docks push out into the calm, warm water. The structures here are minimal and poorly maintained, built from mismatched planks and salvaged materials, with a small, crude marina of simple moorings and leaning posts rather than any formal harbour. A few ramshackle sheds and half-collapsed shelters sit back from the shoreline, offering limited storage or shade but little real protection from the elements. The sea itself remains gentle and inviting, its waters lapping steadily against the docks, often accompanied by light rain rather than harsh storms. At night, faint glows of bioluminescence drift beneath the surface, casting soft light around the pilings and hulls of any anchored boats.
