Boneyard - Rules

The Boneyard, lying north of the Furnace in Hak Etme, is a vast stretch of pale desert where massive skeletons lie half-buried in the sand, their size ranging from small, scattered remains to enormous ribcages and skulls large enough for people to walk through. Many of the largest carcasses resemble long-necked or draconic creatures, their spines and ribs exposed in sweeping arcs that break up the otherwise flat terrain, while smaller bones and fragments fill the spaces between. The sand shifts around them, partially covering limbs and vertebrae so that some skeletons appear whole while others emerge in pieces, creating uneven ground shaped by bone as much as by desert. There is no clear boundary to the area, only more remains stretching outward in every direction, giving the impression of a single, mass exodus frozen in place.

Boneyard Shrine
A small, open-front shrine stands dedicated to Mort and his herald, Ludo. Roughly the size of a market stall, the shrine is entirely constructed from bleached bones, its structure uneven and imperfect, with large ribs curving overhead to form a partial arch tall enough for a person to stand beneath. Smaller bones have been piled into a rough, slanted roof with gaps that let the light through, and inside a low stone altar at waist height holds a wide bowl used for offerings, surrounded by scattered candles and hardened drips of wax left by previous visitors. Skulls and loose bones lie half-buried around the base, blending the shrine into the surrounding boneyard, while it sits fully exposed beneath the open sky against the endless stretch of pale, cracked sand.
