 The Sea of Dreams in Hak Etme is a vast expanse of pure white salt flats stretching uninterrupted to the horizon, the ground hard and crusted underfoot and glaringly bright in daylight. The surface is dry and powdery in places, kicking up fine white dust with movement, while strong desert winds can drive it into dense storms that obscure visibility and distort direction. Crossing the flats offers no cover or landmarks, and the salted ground steadily pulls moisture from anything exposed to it. After rainfall, a thin layer of water settles across the surface, turning the flats into a mirror that reflects the sky so completely that the boundary between ground and horizon becomes difficult to distinguish. |
