Koa
There's going to come a day when you feel better
You'll rise up free and easy on that day
Clenching his jaw at his friend's reassurance, Koa gives a curt, hard nod. Maybe he is overreaction - after all, this isn't done. This time when Mama Mata snakes back toward them, her bite is aimed at Koa himself. Luckily for our heroes she once more misses, her wounds and the relentless cloud wyrms distracting her enough to mar her aim. You'll rise up free and easy on that day
Koa retaliates with a swift strike, wrapping invisible fingers around the creature's tail. With a snarl of anger he tugs, hard, and what do you know? Mama Mata tears apart like paper, the two halves of her body dripping venomous blood. Recoiling slightly, Koa drops the pieces, watching as they fall down to the waves below with an eloquent "Holy shit."
And just like that, it's over. The companions and wyrms will be able to confirm that the nest has now been routed, the Matariarch's death having done quite a blow to the void creature's ranks. With a final assessment of injuries and victories, the trio make their way back to the path.
It isn't much further to the Celestine, and there are mercifully few misadventures as they find their way out. The exit, it turns out, is cleverly hidden in a King's End themed exhibit, off on the southern edge of the grounds. It'll take a day's work to fully seal it, as well as search for any more, but that's a problem for future them. For today the trio can content themselves with having mapped a fair bit of the tunnels, and conquered a void infestation at its core.

YAY TEAM WE DID IT! Mama Mata has been defeated, the Mata nest is routed, and we now know how the smugglers were getting into the Celestine!

And float from branch to branch, lighter than the air
Just when that day is coming, who can say?
Just when that day is coming, who can say?
