Maea
Beware the darkness of dragons,
Beware the stalker of dreams,
For once, in a rare exception to her general reactions, Maea didn't feel a speck of regret. Not over causing a scene, nor of upsetting Ludo or making a mess. She had not started this fight but she was perfectly willing to end it if necessary, and so that's what she did.

When the herald blotted out the night sky, the dragon was already leaping into the air, fully intending to leave. Unaware that the rose had vanished from her grasp - she would rage about that later, elsewhere - she beat her wings to gain elevation and departed, with only a brief thought spared for the partner she was leaving behind. Liam would be able to follow her if he wished to, but in that moment it was for the best to give herself a head start. So she could hide the rose (that she didn't have) and calm the seething anger so she wouldn't take it out on him. It was Thalassa she wanted to fight; the snide expression on the pirate's face she wanted to erase, the self-satisfied notion that she knew Maea at all what she wanted to pulverise and rip into, until the woman started asking questions without presuming to know what the answer would be. Not that she was very interested in answering anything anymore; this was the last time she tried to reach out.

[FIN]
Beware the talons of power and fire,
Beware one who is not what she seems.
♦ Maea looks ~ 8 years younger than she is.
