And when that sky rains fire on you
And you're persona non grata
And you're persona non grata
The reaction of the crowd was immediate and sincere, taking Nina by surprise as she lowered her hands to clasp them before her, the First Flame returning to its brilliant, flickering light. Ember hopped and spit at her feet, the little fire elemental seemingly cheering for its bonded alongside those in the audience. She smiled, the expression almost shy, but certainly content, if nothing else. It seemed as though she'd done her grandmother proud in this, the first of many such traditions that she would continue as Keeper of the First Flame.
The attention quickly turned to Iskra, who had said something about the first ursur. It was a story that Nina knew well, and one that she was equipped to share, but she didn't wish to be the only storyteller at this particular festival. It was open to all, and she turned her dark eyes to the woodcutter as he declined to tell his story. "The right to tell our stories belongs to all of Halo," she corrected. "It is a part of our culture. We would be honored to hear you share the tale of the first ursur - and for anyone else to contribute their own stories."
But if Iskra was not keen to tell his tale, then she would certainly not force him. Some were not meant to stand before a crowd and offer such entertainment. Instead, she ceded the stage to another, who came without fire to share another legend with the collected Halovians.

I'll tell you how I've been there too
And that none of it matters
And that none of it matters
Nina
