Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Despite the questions coming their way, no one stepped forward to challenge their rule. This brought a confidence to the Sentinel. He gave Hotaru's hand gentle, steady pressure as she addressed the concerns raised by both Sah and Aino. Noah was more understanding of the challenge from the outlander, but inwardly shocked at Aino's expression of her discomfort. He had known the woman well when they were children. In later years, she had mostly been silent towards him. What was surprising was that Noah had assumed someone who chose to take up the role of soldier would do anything it took to keep their home safe. With all of his surprise happening inwardly, the man still stood before them stalwart, covered in a neutral, serious expression.
"General Deimos will be taking back leadership of our soldiers. The world is growing more dangerous as we speak. We need to prepare." It was all he had to say after Hotaru's remarks, with the depart of several of their citizens and Sah's silence. Had they any further concerns, Noah was sure he would hear about them. The people of Halo trusted him, he knew that to his very core.
Dark hair for catching the wind, not to veil the sight of a cold world
Some exchanges were made between people in the crowd and the new leaders, but in the end nothing untoward happened to disrupt this fragile new order. Whether Hotaru and Noah would remain in their seats for long was something one could only speculate about - at least for the time being they seemed to have the tentative support of the citizens. Seren watched the tall blonde woman who had spoken so adamantly stalk off, and noticed a quiet exchange between Deimos and a slender young woman by his side, but didn't approach either person, or Sah, to talk. Not the time, or the place.
When the crowd began to disperse, so too did she. It was high time for some dinner, some quick talks with her friends... and then she would have to be on her way.
Seeing Aino storming out, Sah reached out. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze with his own before she left. They'd need to talk later, Cordelia included. About what this meant for their family going forward and how they'd keep each other safe. There was much to consider. The implications and lasting effects of this new hierarchy would decide Halo's future.
And although he had no proof, Sah was fairly certain that there were numerous other people involved in the coup. The one he most suspected was Deimos. In conversations prior to this, Sah had got the sense that the soldier was seconds away from telling him s something, but decided against it. And that something had been clearly weighing heavily on the man. Given Deimos' and Hotaru's recent team-up in Torchline, Sah suspected that Hotaru likely wouldn't have done this coup without him. Not without his support at the very least.
For now though, seeing the crowd begin to disperse, the Outlander wanted to take time to think to himself. And so, giving Cordelia's shoulder a squeeze as he turned, he headed home.
