The work was not precisely simple but it was repetitive and Hadama fell into the rhythm of hammer blows almost like they were a meditation. His experience with construction work was slowly expanding, and he worked with a slow confidence that saw the berths done well and with thorough strengthening precautions in place. It was almost a surprise to realize how long he had been working when his team finished securing the last board of the final berth.

He wandered into the main tower to watch Talyson and Sunjata finishing their work on the lift, admiring how the light fell through the new windows. When the Messenger gave his final task the Tidebreaker stood still for a while, considering the skyport and all that it already had. Then he collected his crew and climbed back up to the top of the tower to install sturdier safety railings all along the outside platforms, ensuring there would be no accidents in King's End. Not, at least, ones that could have been easily prevented.

Hotaru

Hotaru is deeply satisfied with her work (and, of course, the work of the lovely helpers) by the time the doors are hung and the windows are all gleaming - because she refuses to have them installed but not shined up. After that it's merely finishing touches, and Hotaru spends part of that time wandering around looking at all the work the others have done.

"Love the idea," she murmurs at Sunjata's shoulder as she watches him finish up the last letter on the first sign, kissing his arm as she goes gliding past to find her own finishing touch to put on the place. Cleaning aside, she decides to enlist the helpers once more to create an order slip for long-running rugs for certain areas, and establishes rest areas by marking with tape on the floor for where chairs, tables, and other comfort items will be placed. It will be an easy thing to send out the order and have the items delivered and installed by an experienced team, but her eye for design provides a good starting point.

Hotaru creates order slips for rugs and furniture, and marks where she wants certain comfort items to be placed with tape on the floor.
She doesn't care about your words
or how you'll try and save her
Hotaru has a passive magic that makes her glow with an internal golden light; it makes her appear youthful and her hair seems to look like moving sunlight. Can only subtly illuminate dark spaces.

This was it. The culmination of all their hard work, sweat, and sore muscles! Thankfully there hadn't been any blood or tears - aside from a few hammer-bashed thumbs and splinters - but the only reason things had gone as well as they had was because Team Demigod worked well together, and they had been lucky to have the assistance of a number of skilled townsfolk to round out their numbers.

Tal grinned back at Sunjata, exceedingly pleased with their combined work, and he nudged the Archon's shoulder companionably as they headed back outside. The Flood went to collect paint, Ru grabbed a tape measure and a notebook, and Hadama made use of the last of the wood pile, leaving Tal to think about how he wanted to cap off the project.

After a few minutes admiring the skyport he shook off his sense of self-satisfaction long enough to scamper over to the remains of their materials. He gathered up copper poles and a large streamer of tough canvas. He painted the latter a bright orange and threw some quick, neat stitches into it to make a windsock, and then he scrambled up to the top of the skyport's roof to affix it to the longest metal pole. He finished the task by working his way carefully down the outside of the tower, running metal pipe all the way to the ground where he buried it in the earth.

With the grounding rod in place to direct lightning away from their future skyship visitors, Tal dusted his hands off and went to sling his arms around Sunjata and Hotaru's shoulders, grinning at Hadama. "I think that officially does it! Any bets on who our first visitors'll be?"

WE DID IT!

Congratulations on King's End's new skyport!
