Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Sah looked over as Deimos' spoke, watching as he skillfully pulled a second sled into existence. "Perfect. If needed, I can drag the second one if we have trouble keeping them together." The Wild Thunder wouldn't be able to drag the sled back at the same speed as the Sword, but he could still get it where it needed to be.
When his next batch of boughs was cut, Sah secured them to the second sled before continuing his efforts at a new tree. There was an odd moment where he got into a stare down with a highly offended ningo, but the hybrid was able to continue his work.

Rhiannon
Rhiannon moved the last bough she could reach from her current tree, dragging it into place upon the sled. For a moment, she thought they were finished - the sled was about as full as they could make it - and it crossed her mind that this task had been almost too easy. But then Deimos conjured a second sled to put behind the first, and Rhi nodded to herself. Better to have too many boughs than not enough.
So back to work she went, selecting a new tree to scratch and gnaw at, breaking off limb after limb to drag back to the second sled. She looked up at one point to see Sah staring down a ningo and thought about seeing if she could startle the bird so that it might fly into his face, but decided against it. She wasn’t sure how such a prank would be received.

With plans in place, and potential modifications if necessary by Sah, Deimos nodded. “We can fill this one and be done then.” It should be plenty by that point, enough to disperse amongst and amidst the corners of the Citadel.
He returned to his hellhound form thereafter, long limbs taking him further from their current area, intending to spread and diversify their outreach. Still only going after those boughs, branches, and brambles already fallen, rather than cutting or weakening the nearby timber, his massive shift ambled back and forth, tail wagging, wood between his teeth, content with the work at hand. At the very least, this was one of the simpler jobs; and wouldn’t require any mental labor.
The second sled was steadily filled and Sah felt himself relaxing in the meditative pattern of the work. Slice a few boughs and make a pile. When the pile is large enough, secure it to the sled. Find a new tree, rinse, and repeat. It was nice. The Wild Thunder continued his work, being mindful not to engage any more ningos or other judgmental fauna.
As Sah moved to secure his most recent contribution, he was pleased to note that they were almost done with this sled as well. It seemed that they'd all found a nice rhythm in their methods.
They worked on and on, filling the second sled in much the same manner as they had the first. Rhiannon’s jaw began to ache from where she’d gnawed on too many branches, and she found herself relying more and more on the sharp claws of her ursur shift before bearing down with her weight to snap them the rest of the way off. It wasn’t a clean cut, but it did the job. She wondered briefly if she could saw through the logs with her tusks, but, not wanting to look silly, she refrained.
She stayed quiet as she worked, although she was growing bored and restless - surely they had enough boughs by now - but she wasn’t about to complain, not when this was a task that could protect her home. If recent events had taught her nothing else, it was how important such protection would likely be in the seasons to come.

Hordes of boughs, branches and limbs made their way into the second sled, and eventually, both vessels were full. After careful inspection (roaming around the containers multiple times, ensuring everything was in place and wouldn’t catch on any runners), his contented bark rallied through the Attuned bond. Good work. Ready to head home?
Once they were all gathered, he checked over attachments again, before grabbing hold of the rope in his teeth, and beginning to forge along ahead – dragging everything back to the Citadel, and to their next round of ventures and necessities – unaware of just how long the road ahead would be.
