What do you get when two ruthless assassins raise their daughter travelling through the wildest reaches of Caido? Take one look at Theea and you'll get a pretty good idea. Cheerful and tenacious in equal measure, and curious beyond all else, she began her journey on a mission to find those her mother once called family. And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. We can't wait to see where her next adventure takes her!

The Ahi Coast sparkles beneath the Flowerbirth sun, waves rolling onto the shore in gentle, whispering sighs. Flora stands barefoot in the sand, chic and perfectly suited to the vibrant hues of the season—her airy lavender sundress fluttering softly around her knees, gold jewelry glinting at her wrists and throat like trapped sunlight. But there’s a subtle dissonance today, an edge of carelessness to her usually impeccable appearance: her curls tousled and windblown, the ribbon at her waist tied unevenly, her makeup smudged ever so slightly around the corners of her aqua eyes.
She doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest. Instead, she takes another indulgent sip from the vivid purple smoothie in her hand, savouring the taste with a quiet, easy hum of pleasure. Her gaze is fixed toward Starfall, watching the distant horizon with a dreamy, almost distracted smile curling at her lips. It’s beautiful out there, she thinks absently, unbothered by the purple stains already dotting her fingertips, or the faint smudge at the corner of her mouth.
The sea breeze ruffles her hair again, and she lifts her chin slightly, smile widening. Flora feels wonderful—lighter, freer somehow as if all those complicated thoughts and burdens she used to carry around have finally drifted away on the tide.
For once, she isn’t worried about what might come next.
After all, Dahlia had said everything was going perfectly.

Kaiden finds themselves lazily swimming from the depths of Starfall. Even if they hadn't delved too deep yet, being near the purple-tinged waters always put them in a good mood. It's wonderful to be surrounded by Friends of all species. They were reluctant to leave, dreading what was waiting for the in Torchline.
As they approach the coast, a purple figure catches their attention. Drawn to the color, they swim faster until the figure comes into view. It's that lady. Flora, right? The Queen? They've seen her before. But something is different. Popping out of the water, they wave cheerfully, "Hi! I like your dress. It's a pretty purple." The compliment is genuine even if it's part of their strategy. If Kaiden can endear themselves to the Queen, maybe Flora can convince Hadama not to be upset with them. Though the mershark is angry with the Demi-god too.
Kaiden doesn't understand why being a Friend of the Family is such a bad thing to the Tidebreaker. It's wonderful, peaceful, and makes them happy. What could possibly be wrong with that? Shouldn't Hadama be happy for them?

Flora's dreamy gaze snaps back from the horizon at the sound of a voice, her expression shifting from serene contemplation to a welcoming smile. "Oh, hey!" she greets cheerfully, stepping closer to the water's edge where Kaiden has emerged. Her eyes glance over the familiar figure, noting the spirited enthusiasm that seems to shimmer around them like the waters of Starfall itself.
"Thanks! I've been feeling the purple vibe lately," she responds, gesturing to her dress and then to the purple smoothie in her hand with a playful twirl of her wrist. The fabric of her dress catches the breeze, making the colours dance lightly in the sunlight.
Her head tilts slightly, curiosity brightening her features as she tucks a stray curl behind her ear. "I don’t often see you so close to the shore, Kaiden. What brings you up from the depths today?"

Kaiden's smile widens as their cheer is returned. They can't recall Flora ever being so kind to them before. It's a nice change of pace and the mer swims a little closer to better converse with the Queen. Their eyes practically sparkle at her next words. "Me too!" Is she a Friend of the Family? Is that what she means? The mer isn't the best at being subtle but they give it their best shot. Fiddling with their fingers, they tilt their head, "Made any new...purple Friends lately?"
The mershark practically deflates at the reminder of their purpose for coming ashore. "Hadama is mad at me, even though it's his fault." The Demi-god had nearly attacked an innocent creature, just because it was infected! Kaiden had been appalled at his actions. And now, the mershark isn't so sure about how welcome they are in Torchline. They may wander most of the time, but they still consider the region home.

Rising from the sea like some warm and welcome submarine is a Tumsea. With a smattering of starfish on its shell and a coating of seaweed, the creature looks as if it is trying to reflect the starlit heavens. Slow and kind, the creature glances your way, and though it is difficult to ascribe a smile to a creature such as this, indeed it seems to be smiling at you before descending down back into the waves.
You’ve encountered a Tumsea. This counts as a rare creature encounter for the purposes of levelling, but does not count as a Random Event for levelling or MP. There will be no further admin/re intervention. If you choose to follow this creature, you do so at your own risk, however, just having it in this thread is enough to satisfy your levelling requirements. You may not kill your rare creature without admin permission.
Tumseas (rare/mythical): Smaller cousins of the Tulmhainar, Tumseas are like moving ecosystems all unto themselves. With shells of brilliant blues and earth browns, these turtle-like creatures can grow to nearly 4ft in diameter and can hold their breath for decades at a time. Bringing vibrancy and health to all the underwater trails they follow, Tumseas are thought to be good omens and are often followed by schools of fish encantados

Flora's eyes light up at Kaiden's question, a soft chuckle escaping her as she nods enthusiastically. "Actually, yes! I had a really interesting meeting with Dahlia recently," she shares, her voice carrying a hint of excitement mixed with a dash of awe. a"It was... enlightening, sitting down with her properly, you know? She has such a unique perspective on things."
Her expression softens with empathy as Kaiden mentions their troubles with Hadama. "Oh, babe, I'm sorry to hear that," she says, her tone sincere. "Hadama can be a bit intense sometimes, can't he? What's he even mad about?" Her eyes drift back to the horizon for a moment, spying the Tumsea and frowning at it as it blocks her view of Starfall before looking back to the mershark.

They had been right! "Really? I've only ever met Vox. He's so much fun. It was a ghostwhale that showed me how incredible uh..." Kaiden glances around, relieved not to see anyone. "How incredible the Family is. I really want to meet the others." They didn't seem to leave Stormbreak that often, which is such a shame. If they had legs, the mer would likely be moving there at this moment.
The mershark glances at the tumsea as it passes, yet another reminder. "He tried to kill a voidshell tumsea and I stopped him." Their voice rose in pitch, "And then he had the audacity to look at me like I was the crazy one! He'd been about to kill an innocent creature." A tumsea of all things!
Kaiden's fist clench beneath the waves, "I was so scared, Flora. He let us go peacefully, but for a moment there I thought I was going to have to fight him." The mershark is confident in their ability to get out of sticky situations, their scrappiness built upon years of experience. But they aren't such a fool as to think they could take a Demi-god in a fight, especially not one as powerful as the Tidebreaker. "And now he knows I'm a Friend, and what if he tries to chase me out of Torchline?"

Flora's interest piques as Kaiden shares their experiences with Vox and the ghostwhale, her brow arching slightly. "A ghostwhale, huh? That sounds awesome," she hums, delighted.
However, her expression quickly shifts to one of concern as Kaiden details their confrontation with Hadama. "He what?" Flora's voice rises slightly, her shock evident. "Trying to kill a voidshell tumsea—that's... that's not like him. Or it shouldn't be." She shakes her head, the tangles in her hair seeming less the product of wind and more a reflection of her inner turmoil. "I've seen him go to bat over a dried bit of coral before, but he's going to draw the line just because the tumsea was a little bit different?"
Her gaze softens as she sees the distress in Kaiden's posture, the clench of their fists beneath the waves. "Listen babe, fuck him, okay?" She steps a bit closer to the water's edge, her own feet brushed by the foam as if trying to bridge the distance between them with more than just words. "If he wants to fight you or chase you out, he'll have to go through me first." Her assurance is adamant, protective even.
Flora looks back towards the horizon, then to Kaiden with a resolute nod. "If you ever feel unsafe, you come find me, okay? We'll figure it out. Cause we're Family, right?"

Kaiden nods sharply, basking in Flora's validation and shared anger. "I was shocked!" Before that incident, the mershark would have insisted that Hadama was a gentle person. Irritatingly so. Now, they know it's a front. A lief to lull people into a false sense of security. The mershark is just glad that they were disillusioned before it was too late.
Flora's reassurances work wonders for easing Kaiden's anxiety and their posture straightens a little as some of their confidence returns. "Thank you, Flora. I will, I promise."
They swim a little closer, as close as they dared to the shore as a small grin stretches across their face, "That's right. We're Family." Fiddling with their fingers, the mershark tilts their head, "I know I'm not as strong as some, but I can breathe underwater and go places not all Friends can. When you see Dahlia or someone else from the Family again, would you please tell them that I'm happy to help with whatever they need?" The mer hasn't heard of any Family members going beneath the waves so maybe they just don't like getting wet. Kaiden can't understand the sentiment, but they support it.

Flora grins back, the connection between them reinforced by Kaiden's words. Her gaze flicks across the water's surface, catching the last rays of the setting sun that turn the waves into molten gold. It's a view that brings a certain peace, a stark contrast to the turmoil they're discussing.
"Absolutely, I'll tell them," she replies enthusiastically, her voice carrying clearly over the gentle lap of the waves. "And Kaiden, that's not just something. Being able to move where others can't, to breathe underwater—that's a huge advantage. You're a vital part of this Family, don't ever think otherwise."
She steps a bit closer to the water, where the foam brushes against her sandals, the boundary between their worlds before her expression softens, a mix of admiration and a protective fierceness. "And don't you worry about Hadama or anyone else. If they give you trouble, they answer to me." Her tone is firm, a queen's decree more than a friend's reassurance.
She takes a deep breath, letting the salty air fill her lungs before exhaling slowly. "And Dahlia will definitely want to hear about your skills. We always need more eyes under the sea!" Flora chuckles, the sound light and genuine. "Anyway, I'll catch you later okay?" As she prepares to leave, Flora casts one more glance back at Kaiden, tipping him a wink before she turns to walk back up the shore, leaving a trail of footprints in the wet sand.
