Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Given how many times he had pulled the full weight of many tasks, he was perhaps more surprised that it wasn’t going to be necessary. Nodding along, he listened, then glanced down at the sketches, ensuring he understood what was being asked and explained. Taking it all in, studying until all the sentiments settled into his mind, he began to conjure the far more tangible portions.
Pulling his hands apart from one another, the usual Creation glow embarked through his palms. Within a few moments, the pieces began to form together – gas masks, thickened goggles, enhanced by the touches and outlines of his incantations. And while they wouldn’t be strong as any herald’s, they might do the trick for quick excursions into Starfall’s imminent abyss.
Taking a breath, he held it out for Sah to inspect before he made any more. Think that would work?

Sah watched as Deimos weaved his magic and turned his design into a reality. Inspecting the finished mask, the younger hybrid grinned. That's perfect! The mask was exactly as he'd envisioned, and he set Deimos' creation down on the table. Calling forth his own magic, the Wild Thunder created two identical masks.
The edge they would grant the team was small but faced with the unknown dangers of Starfall's lower levels, he was grateful that they'd have them. Between one more mask being created, his quest, and the manta crystals, Sah would be ready to face the island. As ready as he'd ever be. The hybrid doubted any preparation would truly be enough.
He took a deep breath to recenter his thoughts. Thank you, Deimos. I really appreciate your help.

Sah has crafted:
Mask your Enthusiasm: A gas mask with goggles that can see through environmental effects up to 5 feet. (Made by Sah)
and
Mask your Sass: A gas mask with goggles that can see through environmental effects up to 5 feet. (Made by Sah)

With the acceptance, Deimos waited – arching a brow as Sah followed through, creating his own identical masks. In turn, the Sword relented, copying and extracting, ensuring the same incantations flowed and echoed, churning another exact framework, detailing, and precision into the forefront of the proportions. There it sat again amidst its brethren, all four lined up for whomever would be sent back into the Starfall thresholds.
You are welcome, as they were headed into necessary means and operations. Do you want to hang onto all of them? Given that he was likely to immerse himself into the dreaded isle before the Warden did on this go around – and he’d trust they’d make it to whomever needed it.

Deimos makes ANOTHER ONE:

Deimos crafted the final mask and Sah felt the weight of the looming trip settle across his shoulders. He was still terrified but the process of preparing continued to ground him. One step at a time was all he could ask of himself.
Yes please. I'll make sure that they get to the right people. Hadama and Noah were certain. But their fourth was still somewhat up in the air. It'd hopefully be Ru, but Sah still needed to double check with her. She understood the personal dangers of angering the Family better than almost anyone. Her reservations mirrored his own and the Wild Thunder didn't want to push her if Ru decided to refrain from joining them.

With the agreement in place, the Sword nodded, striving to keep all of his own apprehension and trepidation at bay. While he might be gaining a minimal reprieve from the constant onslaught, it meant others, like Sah, were taking his place; not a comforting sentiment when they’d face down multitudes at Starfall just as they had previously. All right, he warranted, glancing back at the pile of masks.
Likely looking quite strange in their silent conversations and crafting, he muffled a laugh and extended more outwards. “Let me know if you need anything else to prepare before then.” Timelines and pragmatics would be on the forefront, and he already had a flower in place, at least, for when their venture was required.
