Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

He has frequented the shrine as of late, and he hopes that his deity doesn’t mind. And while he’s still working to complete his own - soon to be finished - this is yet another one for the very region Frey had helped him build and protect. So it is to them that Sunjata visits again, a jar in his pocket protected like nothing else.
“Frey,” he hums softly, steel eyes tracing the peaches and pineapple he’s left beneath the glittering wind chimes. I recently got some blood like we talked about before. Can you help me protect a portion of King’s End from the Family? Lifting his gaze to the flickering flame in the top middle of the shrine, Sunjata sinks back onto his heels as he sends his prayers up, hope lingering in the relaxation of his body.
Sunjata is asking Frey for an RQ to protect a portion of KE from the Family!

Sunjata speaks with an Australian accent and has a passive magic that makes him produce a subtle scent that matches exactly to whatever those around him most desire him to smell like.
The hush that follows isn’t silence so much as anticipation, the air thickening like a held breath, warm and sweet with the scent of peaches ripening in sun. The flame at the heart of the shrine flares—not violently, but gloriously—golden light spilling over Sunjata’s skin, catching the lines of his tattoos, the silver of his scars, the reverence in the way he kneels.
Then Frey is there.
They unfold into the space like a secret, languid and nude, all sun-kissed skin and shifting curves, a body built of worship and wickedness. Golden light trails from their limbs like pollen in the breeze, and their smile could coax a forest into bloom.
"My darling Flood," Frey purrs, stepping barefoot across the stone and sinking behind Sunjata in one fluid motion. They wrap themselves around him with familiar ease—arms over his shoulders, thighs bracketing his hips, the press of their chest warm against his back. "You’ve been busy."
Their voice is silk and sin, laced with praise and pleasure. One hand finds its way over his chest, the other dipping low to trace idle shapes against the fabric at his thigh, not seeking—just reminding.
"And what a good job you’ve done," they murmur, nuzzling against the side of his throat. Their fingers skim up his jaw, tipping his head back until they can look at him—truly look at him—with eyes that glow with power and amusement. "Yes," they say, voice thick with pride and promise. "We’ll make it so even the Family can’t worm their way in without scraping themselves bloody on our roots, mmm?"

Warmth fills him both internally as it does physically - the cascading light invigorating as it is refreshing. It’s being born anew, each and every time he meets with them, and for that, Sunjata chastises himself again and again for always taking so long in between his visits.
He relaxes immediately when he feels them wrap around him, over his shoulders and their chest against his back, thighs against the outsides of his hips. He sinks into it comfortably, humming a note that agrees with their silky voice. Because he has been busy, and for good reason, too, he thinks.
The praise has him warming, the touch at his thigh a gentle feeling, settling as his head is tilted back - warmth reflected in the usual storm cloud of his eyes, warmth that blooms to the hard steel of appreciation. “Yeah. That sounds perfect.” Sunjata agrees, his voice low and dripping with agreement, leaning into them to hear the tasks, letting it fuel the edge of silent payback for the shit they’d put him through.
“Thank you, Frey.” He hums after their tasks are laid out, content to sit there pressed against his deity until they leave him rejuvenated and ready to get back to work.
