Thought you had your shit together, but damn, I was wrong
Dahlia is dead.

Or at least - as good as dead.

She's gone and got herself pricked by some flower and now everything's falling apart. Thal knows things aren't going well, she can feel the shift and the urgency building in her chest - not quite a panic, but something close. So when she docks The Marauder in Jack Tar for the night, she makes a point to slip away, a plan already forming in her mind.

The familiar swim into the shrine doesn't give her any pause, the darkness welcoming like she's always belonged there. Memories of horrific eight-legged demons greet her when she steps from the water, but the pleasant purple hue of her mind dampens that discomfort. Perhaps one of the many benefits she's found about being close with the Family: nothing else really bothers her.

It's why she easily strides through the dark with only a small flicker of flame to guide her to the cluster of rubies, pressing her palm confidently into the sharp tips so that blood runs freely over their glowing light. There's a hasty tone to her voice, a pressure in her chest that draws her to act, to speak as she calls out, "Lady Dygra." Her voice echoes in the chamber, almost as loud as the beating of her heart. "Things seem to be heating up and I wouldn't mind getting some new abilities to add to the chaos." A devious smirk pulls at her lips when she asks, "Any suggestions or recommendations?" After all, the goddess is the Queen of Chaos.

Thalassa is asking Dygra for a quest to get a new magic! If she doesn't roll high enough, please use her CotS token. Thank you! <3

Feel free to pick between Siphon, Ignis Pulse, and Peter Pan. I can't decide. XD

The world is new to you, and you to it. During PQ/PQ+/KQs/Drops, you roll with advantage on luck-based rolls and receive an extra name during drops. (In order to use this, make sure to note the ability at the bottom of each post)

Regional Score bonus: +5 in all shrine visits, drops, PQ+s, KQs, etc. (You must post this at the bottom of any post where a +5 should be included). Residents cannot be cursed at shrines in this region.

Dygra
The cluster of rubies pulse with dark light beneath Thal's fingertips, the crystals heating to a fever pitch as they're drenched in her lifeblood. The flame in her hand will grow no higher, no brighter, but nevertheless the surrounding shadows will seem to shrink away from the moment she shares with her goddess. Dygra speaks, low and sensuous, her voice a tremor deep within the rock, as if she's calling across eons to speak with the Ancient in her presence.

"You speak so uncertainly, little dark one," she purrs. Things seem to be heating up. She wouldn't mind some new abilities. Suggestions. Recommendations. "Might I suggest walking with your head held high and your path true, however chaotic it may be?" There's the faintest suggestion of humour in her tone, and if this is an admonishment, it certainly doesn't seem that way.

"Very well. Do these tasks, and reap your reward."

Thal has received a quest! She must complete the following, and she will find out what ability she has gained on her return:

1. Complete a thread starting a fight with someone she likes.
2. Complete a thread doing something unexpectedly nice for someone she dislikes.
3. Complete a thread sailing The Marauder through a lightning storm. (Even better if the ship is struck by lightning in the process!)
4. Complete a training thread at night, focusing on remaining unseen.

Thought you had your shit together, but damn, I was wrong
She basks in the presence of her goddess, feeling the pulse of heat and flickering of shadows before the voice resonates in her chest, emboldening and soothing in its familiar rumble. It makes her smile a little sharper, a fanged greeting to the mother of her kind.

The teasing chastisement has her head tilting, wondering if she is uncertain. Thal knows that she wants to be stronger, knows that she wants to help the Family, knows that she wants to fight. But there's still that small voice that sometimes calls out from beneath the waves, casting doubts and fears that don't coexist with the violet motivations she now carries. Does that make her uncertain?

Shrugging her shoulders to cast aside the thoughts, she says something she knows without a doubt: "These are uncertain times." And although she relishes in the chaos, something tells her the outcome might not be to her liking, and that is something she's unsure of. Still, she won't disappoint the goddess, and she determines to strengthen her resolve, her spine straightening as she says, "I'll do better." A promise and a vow wrapped in blood and mischief.

Then the quest is laid before her, and Thal dips her head in reverent appreciation. "Thank you, Dygra. They will be done." No 'uncertainty' or doubt taints her tone, a characteristic stubbornness making her confidence ring in the chamber.

She waits until the presence fades, turning over her new tasks in her mind before departing, slipping back into the waters like a shadow beneath the waves, suggestive of something dangerous nearby.
