Character of the Season
Once known as the Butcher of Whitebrim, he's now The Butcher of Dygra, stepping forward as the first created demigod of the Ancients. There is no question that Astaroth casts an intimidating silhouette. Tall, domineering and dangerous, if looks could kill you'd be dead already, but to get up close and personal with the Grounds' resident cannibal tells a much different story. Dripping with charm and clad in only the finest attire, Asta is a gentleman monster, as polite as they come and committed to his role as security for the Dusklight and those who have earned his loyalty. Be careful of that smile, though - those teeth are sharp.
Congratulations, Asta!

Nova brightens at the suggestion, immediately liking the pun more than the other options. "I love that! The logo could be a sunflower with a bean in the middle!" Her dirty finger lifts from the mud, twisting in the air as a glittering illusion pops into existence. It's a beautiful golden sunflower, bright and eye-catching with its yellow petals, centered by a brown coffee bean. Grinning, she looks to Caly for approval. "Maybe something like this?" Meanwhile, she's already planning billboards, t-shirts, and mugs in her head, vibrant yellows, golds, and warm browns splashing throughout her thoughts.
Other than the location of her shop, the name, and the logo, another point of consideration came to mind and Nova's head tilts as she looks to Caly. "Would you want to keep living on the Ark? Or should we find a place in New Haven?" Not that she cares either way, content to continue pestering the crew with her glitter and buzzing energy.
there's so much time for me to speak up, but i keep quiet
She watches as her sister’s hand makes an appearance, encased in the mud as she draws up a little illustration of a logo for the boutique. Surprise drifts across her face, her grin growing brighter as she bobs her head. “An’ maybe it can say Sunbean in the bean?” She suggests, sure that her sister could put together the perfect mock up for it. The boutique could have yellow and amber stained glass, the interior bright and warm and full of flowers and snacks.
They could sit there all day and daydream about it, honestly, but when Nova asks her question, it gives her pause. Having expected to stay on the Ark regardless… But maybe it would make more sense to have a space closer rather than having that whole commute time. “Hmm. I guess an apartment in the town couldn’t hurt?” She hums, nose wrinkling as she thinks about it. “Doesn’t mean we always gotta stay there..” She could spend time at the Ark still if she wanted to. But it might be nice having a space away from them.
The request is so simple that Nova laughs again, twirling her finger like a fairy godmother granting the glass slippers that will change her life. "Too easy!" The illusion shifts, growing large enough for the word 'Sunbean' to fit inside the bean, the gold lettering making it pop against the brown. It's perfect and Caly in all the ways that make her eager to begin their new project, already picking out shops to visit and fabrics to buy.
Nodding her head, Nova smiles her encouragement. "Okay! We can just rent a place and leave whenever we want!" Although she has to squash that brief idea that 'leave' could mean going back to Torchline. It's not that she wants to because she dislikes King's End, but because of the familiarity, that stumbling of words and thoughts that always drift to sandy beaches and sunny skies when she thinks of 'home.' But she refuses to be in the place that gives her sister so much pain, refuses to make it seem like she would be anywhere but where her siblings are.
Shoving aside thoughts that are too heavy and annoying for such a light mood, Nova tilts her head, eyes glittering with all the possibilities to come. "Maybe the shop we find will have an apartment above it!"

As Nova crafts the illusion of what their sign could be, Caly’s grin brightens immensely, her laughter a trickle of warm light as she nods her approval. It’s perfect – exactly what she’s looking for as the idea forms fully in her head. She settles into the mud as a game plan forms in her mind, nodding slowly as she spreads some more of the mud between her fingers, the weight as relaxing as she thought it might be now that she’s not on edge.
“Yeah, exactly.” She agrees – but it never hurt to have a place to land, especially if and when the Ark wasn’t around. Being more stable here was probably a good plan, and one that Caly latches onto in a way that helps her try to find a new normal. Even when Nova suggests maybe a space that has an apartment above it, Caly perks up with the idea of it. “Oh yeah, that can prolly be somethin’?” She muses, nose scrunching as she runs through her mind the main drag of New Haven and what shops were available, already mentally prepping to go and talk to whomever she needed to about it.
Letting the illusion fade, Nova nods her head emphatically. "Mhm! We'll find a spot when we get back." Plans are falling into place, thoughts turning from escape to something brighter and full of possibility. She can already imagine all the people that will visit, how popular they'll be throughout Caido. It'll be perfect.
Nova already feels like the trip has been a success, but there is plenty more fun to be had, and she wiggles her shoulders like she's ready to get even wilder than gifts and brain children. "Come on. I think we have facials next and I want to get this mud off." Her face scrunches playfully, sticking her tongue out as she moves to stand and shakes her hands towards her sister before scurrying off with a giggle and splattering of mud.
