Different is not bad, but as a creature of habit for so long, and predictable ones made by his hands and his choices, learning to adjust to the unexpected is a skill he's still brushing up on. Though he welcomes the differences she brings, and wants to explore the unknown with her, it's also a terrifying notion that a misstep could ruin this. Half a mind to emulate Lenny, he's tempted to clutch tight what he does know, trying to keep it solidly in place, the one bit of loving her he does understand.
So there's almost some relief in the return to banter, the flick of her tongue, the rolling of eyes and the chaotic spill of an adventure's parts being gathered up (the clothing and food containers). "I'll keep it in mind for next time," he grins back, knowing full well that this would not be their first and only date, but certainly glowing a bit at saying so outloud, to her. Glancing down at himself for a second as she shields herself behind the picnic blanket, he's now suddenly aware of how naked he is, and solo. Having used his pants like a bag to stuff his other clothing into, he positions it purposefully hover his groin. The tower something he'd mentioned to her before after working out supplies with Zavien. "Hasn't happened yet," he says with a roll of his shoulders and a squint up at the canopy, thinking of his schedule and when he expects Zavien will reach out. "I've sent him most of the wood shipment he needs though, so probably any day now. Probably going to be gone a while up there, once it starts. I'm not sure how many laborers he has lined up, but...it's a big project." Certainly bigger than he'd realized when he first agreed to it, but once he got all the lumber needs in he'd been shocked.
Nodding with a quiet smile that does its best to keep his energy grounded instead of erratic over the idea of dinner, he ruffles his hair absently. "Let me know what to bring when you do. Like what do people normally do...wine? Bread?" He has not been invited to many dinners. His attention flicks up at Sila's sounds, but darts back to her with a playful slant to his expression, as if of the same mind. He dashes forward, shoving mildly at her arm to fight for the headstart. "Hope you like cleaning your majesty!"
