Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.
Congratulations, Niki!

Noah was able to pry the old hinges from their place on the wall without much incident. That would not be said for the men and women trying to wrangle the gate into place. Noah jumped to the side as gasps filled his ears and the sense of danger that made the hair on the back of his scarved neck stand straight. He called out, like Deimos, to see if anyone was hurt. Vi'dore, hearing the commotion and feeling the tinge of Noah's alarm over their bond trotted forward, ready to give healing to any that needed it.
Giving his unicorn a pat on the neck and tossing aside the old hardware, Noah nodded to Deimos. "Of course." He said as he stepped in to assist the men and women already attempting to lift the gate again. Noah grasped and crouched, using the lean and firm muscles in his legs to support his back and shoulders as he helped his fellows lift the gate. He grunted with the effort, but as a few more hands came in for aid the load lightened and they aimed to place the gate for Deimos to fasten.
This time, the intervals and efforts worked like a charm. Alys was fully capable of constructing a fire, especially after living in Halo for so long, where the ability was a natural necessity, and it flared to a compact inferno, eating away at the decrepit, broken wood. While it wouldn’t be utilized again, it also couldn’t be snagged or entangled with enemies, as Deimos would eternally regret some other things he’d made in the past.
Thanks to Noah and his strength, the gate was held properly while Deimos made the adjustments to the new hinges, and altogether they placed the barrier down, tweaking it back and forth more than once to see it working well and in accord. With a sigh of immense relief, the Sword glanced to all the workers and compatriots, patting anyone nearby on the shoulder or back. “Well done. Thank you all for your efforts.” For it meant Halo’s solid, defensive structure was strengthened for another round of seasons. “I owe you a round at the Kraai,” and with a wrinkled nose and that promise, they could solidify and gather their instruments, part with the knowledge of sanctity and shelter.
