The final step was crucial to making the rum and all of the tasks took steady hands and a careful eye in order to produce a final product worthy of Safrin's and Ludo's fountain. Hadama, appropriately enough, took charge of the crew adding water, measuring it carefully with his eyes and other senses that were finely-tuned to such things. He watched closely as the helpers lifted the barrels and poured them into the vats, stopping them as soon as the optimum amount of water was reached.

Maea took over the fire and Hadama shared a small, quick smile with her as she controlled the flames with the same pinpoint accuracy. The necessary temperature was quickly reached and he and several others began to stir the mixture until the sugars and cane juice were fully dissolved. Then it was up to the Loreseeker to reduce the heat until it was gentle enough for the yeast to withstand.

That was where Thalassa came in, and her experience with distilling was key to their success. The perfect amount of yeast was required, and luckily for them the Captain was a capable woman when rum was on the line. She ensured that her crew didn't add too much yeast and spoil a vat, or too little and ruin the fermentation. Hadama and his helpers continued to stir, slowly mixing the wash as it became the wort.

The final step was to pour the contents of all the cauldrons into tuns that had been prepared for them. The tuns were loaded onto the wagons that had brought the original yeast and booze for the party and sent back to ferment in peace in a warm warehouse for a couple of weeks. Once they were ready Hadama would oversee the distillation and final, brief aging before the rum would be added to the fountain once more.

But for tonight, food and drinks were brought to those who had continued to work into the moonrise and the party was in full swing as Torchline celebrated the return of its Lucky Rum Fountain and the volunteers who had made it possible!

This wraps up the PQ+! Thank you both for helping finish it in record time <3 Thalassa and Maea will always be welcome to a free drink from the fountain whenever they're in the Port!
