Elizabeth

The greatest gift
you can give someone

Her smile was warm and eager at his offer, but she didn't want to scare him off, so she kept her excitement in check. She would definitely be visiting at some point. Hopefully, she would get a chance to observe him doing the forging. With a smile, she said, "That's understandable, but at least you have a chance to practice the skills nonetheless." Her family didn't have any legacies or inheritances. Their nomadic nature made it difficult to be materialistic or develop traditions. Maybe now that they'd settled down, they'd be more inclined to leave something for their lineage.

Elizabeth was surprised at her own reaction speed, glancing down at her hands in awe as the attackers perished. It wasn't like she'd gained a lot of battle experience, but apparently her outings with Deimos had paid off, the defensive response becoming second nature. Letting her hands drop by her side, the shock transitioned to a polite smile. "Thanks. You did a pretty good job yourself." And it was true as she looked around at the fallen hels, she admired his own magic abilities. Whereas hers was a fried husk, his were clean and elegant puffs of feathers.

is the space to be his or her
authentic self.

He inclined his head at her supportive words, accepting them with a calm appreciation for the spirit in which she gave them. They might have spoken more of their families and their callings, but the feathered interruption - however short-lived - drew an unexpected shadow over the previously-pleasant Flowerbirth day.

Each reacted swiftly to end the sudden threat, and between the two of them their golden seedpods were safe from the marauding Hels. Hadama shaded his eyes as he looked up to examine the remaining birds - which had flapped a more respectful distance away - bur their plumage appeared to be of the normal variety. Once he was certain that no more hostile avians were planning to divebomb them he turned his attention back to Elizabeth with a subtle easing of the tension along his shoulders. "Thank you," he murmured, giving the earth a final pat with the shovel before handing it back. "I will patrol here often to make sure they are undisturbed."

A patrol he should be starting soon, though an easier one now that the Ahi Coast was the only part of Torchline still plagued by Void creatures. "I have more work to do. But I look forward so seeing you again soon, Elizabeth." He gave her a proper bow, courteous and respectful of her kindness as much as her demonstrated power.

For now, it was time to go their separate ways. But if Caido was willing, their currents would cross again soon.
