With things calm at the moment, Sah planned a quick trip to Frey's Breath. He hadn't heard of any flowers being found apart from the one in Hadama's wand and it made him anxious. After making sure that everything at home was squared away, he'd sent out a notice to get volunteers.
He had no idea how to even begin looking for the flowers, but he'd brought torches, shovels, and a very hopeful pot. At least the Abandoned knew what Rae's Lillies looked like. Sah had spent some time looking at diagrams and asking those who had seen them in person for detailed descriptions.
Soon, the volunteers arrived, and it was time to begin, "Alright, let's move from the inside and increase the radius as we go. So, we'll start with the water's edge. Be careful."

Welcome to a PQ to try and find a Rae's Lily. There's no guarantee that we'll find one but it's worth a try! Post your character arriving and beginning the search.
Having heard the call for help, Elizabeth decided to join the party searching for Rae's Lillies. Her recent visit to the hot springs had been so enjoyable that she was more than happy to have a reason to go back. She listened to Sah's words, nodding along to the directions. It would be the easiest way to ensure they didn't miss any sections.
Her cover dress was light, keeping the hot steam from causing her too much discomfort as she made her way to the edge of the first pool of water. Elizabeth scanned her eyes along the edges, looking for the white and gold flowers while being careful of the slick flooring.

Tal had been meaning to do some searching in Frey's Breath for awhile, but running between King's End and Torchline, hitting Stormbreak on the way, had kept him busy enough that he hadn't made it up to the Climb in awhile. After he and Sah had stabbed the ever-loving fuck out of each other on Metacarpal Island he wasn't exactly thrilled to come hang out with his frenemy again so soon but what was he gonna do, say no??, but it was on the way to visiting his sisters in Halo so...
Why the hail not.
Boreal was absolutely delighted to fling herself straight into the water and paddle around, snorting water out of her nose and using her tail to help propel her through the hot springs like a short, muscular white alligator with a very blunt muzzle.
Tal was less excited to get into the water, but he had rolled up his sleeves and grabbed a shovel to poke at the lilies at the water's edge, nudging them carefully aside to try and find one that had gold and turquoise within the satin-white petals of the more normal flowers.
"So, uh... are y'feelin' better?" he called over to Elizabeth cautiously through the steam, wary but at least attempting to make an effort to be civil after their last conversation had gone alright.
Tal and Boreal have arrived and started looking!
Elizabeth was a welcome sight and Sah smiled at the woman as she started to search. Talyson was...still welcome. Though surely, no one could blame the Wild Thunder for keeping a slight distance. He didn't want the man to trip and stab him again. Given the question that the courier posed to his fellow Abandoned, perhaps a separate altercation had occurred as well. He elected to stay silent and let them talk it out as needed.
Sah chose the opposite side of the water and began his search. When none of the group found success, the Wild Thunder called out. "Alright, let's move about 10 feet back and search again." There were numerous patches of lilies dotting the area around the springs. Unless they searched each patch, they'd likely miss any that Rae had touched.

Seeing Tal didn't elicit as many nervous emotions in her as they did him. She'd believed they'd had a minor disagreement on the state of the world, but that didn't mean they couldn't be friends. Giving him a polite and friendly smile, Elizabeth said, "I am! Thank you for asking. Were you able to complete your delivery?" The unicorns had been nice to see, however, she still found it strange that anyone wanted their feces.
Not spotting any flowers, she followed Sah's instructions and began moving to another spot, keeping her eyes peeled for what she suspected the flowers looked like. It was hard to stay focused with the playful dragon, but she grinned at the lighthearted distraction.

Tal was rather hoping to avoid being skewered by a misplaced spear again, too, so keeping a distance from Sah was definitely a mutual arrangement. Given the area that they had to search, it also wasn't particularly hard. The courier waved his shovel in wordless acknowledgment of the decision to widen the search area and sloshed ten feet farther away to begin poking at another batch of lilies. He was looking for a tell-tale trace of gold, but so far no luck.
"Huh? Oh, y'mean that...? Yeah, but I got caught in a storm o'er th'Climb an' lost a day," he admitted morosely. "Missed th'deadline I'd promised an' had t'take a lower price for th'job." Which had stunk - literally. It had taken him a solid day of scrubbing until he'd been satisfied that no trace of smell or anything else remained on his precious deck.
Ever helpful, Boreal dove beneath the surface of the water and vanished from sight for a few seconds before popping up near Elizabeth, a - sadly normal - lily pad and flower draped over her head as she blinked hopefully up at the woman from her big, pleading eyes.
Tal looks for the flowers a little further out.

The search continued without any luck. Sah grumbled under his breath as a trick of the light made one lily appear magical for a moment before a shift in the light revealed its true nature. Just a normal lily. After quietly listening to the conversation, Sah glanced over at Talyson, "You were late? That's rare." The courier's timing wasn't always perfect, but the Wild Thunder couldn't recall the last time that the man had missed a hard deadline.
As Boreal worked her magic on Elizabeth, Sah regretted leaving his own companions at home. Both of the wolves would have enjoyed splashing in the springs but with the puppies needed proper supervision. They'd all been taking shifts and both Lilly and Pad were on duty at the moment.

Round 3. 10 more feet out and we search again! No post order.
Frowning, she looked to Talyson. "I'm sorry to hear that. And to think that it was already such an unpleasant job." A single day didn't seem like enough to punish someone, but she supposed it wasn't her place to say. Her job didn't deal in deadlines and exchanged goods. Appointments were usually pretty fluid and her pricing wasn't often something people tried to haggle.
Her thoughts were pleasantly interrupted by a small splash of water nearby. Elizabeth gave the dragon a warm smile and accepted the normal flower in exchange for a scratch under the chin. "Thank you." It may not have been what they were looking for, but she enjoyed the white flower enough to tuck it into her hair as she kept searching, moving farther out.
Elizabeth widens her search again.

Tal splashed through a section of lilies that looked promising, but were inevitably unmagical. He pushed further out with a morose nod to both Sah and Elizabeth - at the hunter for his understanding of just why it had hit the courier so hard, and at the therapist for her sympathy and understanding of the smelly details. "Thanks. My own damn fault for thinkin' it'd be clear skies this time o' year an' promisin' my deadline accordingly. I've usually got a better sense for th'weather, but sometimes it surprises me." And he'd gotten overconfident in trying to impress Torchline's Queen with his quick delivery time. Next time he'd be sure to include his usual day or two of weather-buffer!
He might not have had much luck turning over a fancy lily, but Boreal had at least found a perfect, normal one! She chortled happily as Elizabeth accepted it and repaid the present with a chin-scratch that had the dragon's eyes closing in reptilian bliss.
Leaving the nice human lady to continue wading, Boreal paddled towards Sah next. She bumped her broad head against his leg - giving his pocket an investigatory snorfle - before looking up at him pitifully and giving her wet wings a tragic little flap in the steaming waters.
Tal moves out farther and Boreal goes to beg Sah for treats!
It was irritating how difficult it was to find the damn flowers. Sah grimaced as he searched in another patch of flowers without any luck. His grimace turned into a soft smile as Boreal made her presence known. The Wild Thunder reached over and stroked the bridge of the dragon's nose, "Alright, alright. Give me a second." Digging into his pocket, he pulled out dried luxere jerky and held it out for Boreal to eat. Because, of course, he always kept snacks on hand for his wolves and Lilly's best friend.
As Boreal ate, Sah glanced up, surprised at how far the sun had moved since their search began. "Let's give it one last attempt before calling it quits for now. It's almost lunchtime."

Boreal could be the very soul of patience when treats were being procured for her. She paddled politely to keep in place at Sah's side until the jerky appeared and then she took it delicately between her teeth. Eating while swimming was something of a challenge, but the dragon was both resourceful and determined to not let even a single crumb escape!
Tal straightened up from his own attempts to sort through a lily bunch, wiping steam from his brow with a grimace of frustration at the task. It was beginning to feel endless - and no little futile - with how much area they needed to cover. The sheer amount of normal lilies that potentially masked any special ones wasn't helping either! "Yeah, maybe they're in a different section." He shifted further away from the others, so that the obscuring steam made it hard to see them as anything more than vague shapes through it. "So what'd y'bring t'feed us?" he teased his best frenemy as he gave the search one last college try.
Tal moves back and keeps looking.
Unsurprised to see Boreal move on to more lucrative targets, Elizabeth gave an amused smile, making sure the flower was secure in her hair. She left the dragon to her antics while she continued listening to Talyson. It was understandable that he held himself to a standard, but she still added, "Well, don't be too hard on yourself. It happens." If they didn't make mistakes, they wouldn't learn or grow as people.
Hearing Sah's instructions, she nodded her head, chuckling at Talyson's question. Elizabeth hadn't noticed how hungry she was getting, but she was suddenly glad that there was an end in sight, even if they might turn out empty handed. With increased motivation, she shifted through the water, traveling further into unchecked territory.

Boreal was precious, and Sah gave her a few more affectionate scratches across her scales before continuing his search. He turned up empty just as the others did. The lilies were nowhere to be found today. It was frustrating, but they had to be hidden somewhere in the springs. He'd just have to come back another time.
As for lunch, Sah snorted at Talyson. "Sandwiches and cookies." He'd stopped by a cafe this morning and after carefully securing them in a basket, he'd used his teleportation to get to Frey's breath in a few leaps. The food was safe and still fresh for lunch.
Their search came to a close, and the Wild Thunder divided out lunch, "Thank you all for coming to help. I guess the search will just have to continue another day."
