What do you get when two ruthless assassins raise their daughter travelling through the wildest reaches of Caido? Take one look at Theea and you'll get a pretty good idea. Cheerful and tenacious in equal measure, and curious beyond all else, she began her journey on a mission to find those her mother once called family. And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. We can't wait to see where her next adventure takes her!

It would be Lena’s first venture in her encantado form, and the utter delight wove its way through the Attuned bond the moment they touched the water. Have you ever been down here before? came through her mind immediately, marveling at the feel of the waves brushing against her, and the simplicity of her motions barreling her forward; tail undulating, flippers ensuring she remained upright, then rolling side to side. I have to pop back up to breathe occasionally, she mentioned, just so they didn’t go down too deeply.
But with a large inhale, she dove into the brighter aspects, before meandering, gliding, into the fathoms below, already marveling at the sensations and semblances alone. This is amazing!

Just as it was Lena's first adventure as an encantado, it was Soh's first as a swordfish. For so long, she had wished for a form that would allow her to traverse under the water, and now, it seemed, she had gotten her wish. As she swam through the warm seas, she couldn't help but catch Lena's infectious joy. I never imagined it would be like this, she admitted, her voice gleeful through the Attuned bond as she cut through the water, her shape built for speed. It's so fun!
The pair rushed on towards the Underwater City, and Soh marveled at the coral and other underwater building blocks, illuminated from within by bioluminescent plankton. The trail she left behind her twinkled and glittered in response. I've never been anywhere underwater, she said. At least, not anywhere like this. There had been that time with Tal in the Greatwood, but they'd only explored a nondescript cave - nothing like the glorious city that lay before the girls now.

Lena knew of swordfishes, even if they weren’t frequent visitors of the Celestine. Still, Sohalia cut an impressive, swaggering figure slashing through the water, and she gave a dolphin-esque grin as her friend rampaged along that same gleeful bond.
The underwater abyss was its own unique rampart – and the Caretaker’s eyes widened in each turn and glance. Me neither she admitted, but in these shifts, they’d be so capable of going anywhere they pleased amidst the wide world below the waves – as long as they were safe. Considering the coral, then passing over portions of stone where buildings began to form out of the darker, starker ranges, she began to streamline through towards what appeared to be a market. Can you imagine living here?

The city began to rise out of the gloom, an imposing skyline - waterline? - appearing from the darkness. For a moment, Sohalia could only watch with awe as buildings made of stone and coral and all sorts of things came into view, banking this way and that in the water as she strove to avoid a collision. This form was still new to her, and although she could swim either fast or slow, she doubted very much that she could stop altogether or move backwards. It made the exploration all the more thrilling as she learned the limitations of her new shift.
No, she said as the pair swam, admiring the way Lena's encantado form danced through the water, more graceful than her own slicing shift. I think I'd go mad if it was this dark all the time. Do you think it ever gets any brighter? They approached a square that seemed to be a market, and Sohalia paused by circling slowly, eyeing the buildings that rose on either side, the stalls stacked one on top of the other towards the surface of the sea far above.

Lena spent some moments catching up with Sohalia’s swiftness, trying out her form and the limits of its capabilities were always going to be a tricky nuance. But between the sights, questions did arise, and she ducked around a merchant, surveying their wares as they stared at her – maybe not used to dolphins being down in this part of their world.
I think the bioluminescence helps she figured, long snout gesturing towards the substances sprung about. Maybe they have other things in their homes? Or they’re used to it? It’d be something they’d have to ask Hadama, she supposed, she didn’t know any other Mer. She wasn't certain she'd be bold enough to ask any passersby.
She made a dash towards another towering structure, surveying it with a keen encantado smile, before another kiosk worker seemed affronted.

They swam this way and that, exploring the market, much to the consternation of the merchants trying to sell their wares. Perhaps it was uncommon for animals to come barging into the city; either way, Soh swam upward with a pang of embarrassment, aiming to get out of the way of the marketgoers who were openly gaping at the swordfish and encantado dancing through their midst.
I suppose you're right, Soh said. She supposed one could get used to a lot of things, if one lived a certain way their entire lives. Perhaps she could get used to it, too, if she were to take up residence down here. They don't seem very welcoming to swordfish and encantados, she commented, amusement evident in her voice as she circled above, out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the city.

I guess not she mused; and given the reputation of some animals, she couldn’t say she was surprised or shocked. But they were only on the outskirts of the City itself, and gazing upwards, she could see more of a marketplace threshold – in fact, stories of it, rising from the bottom of the sea. We could try over there? Maybe they have more experience dealing with Attuned, she mused. Or perhaps more patience for tourists and foreigners.
And with a flourish of her tail, and waiting for the swordfish to dash along, the encantado raced ahead, amused at all the sights and sounds the ocean had to offer.
