Elizabeth

Finishing off the last bite of her croissant, Elizabeth let it melt on her tongue as she listened to Maea. Her dad's love of history meant she understood a decent amount of the major events, following along with her story and the associated world activities. It was certainly fascinating how she'd come to her own profession, and the lack of necessity for it now.

With a slight frown of her lips, she said, "It's such a pity. Are you trying to keep the profession alive, or change professions?" With all the other changes, she wondered if the Ancient might be even more inclined for such a major adjustment. There were plenty of other needs to fill, depending on what her wishes were. However, she also understood if that might be too much right now.

Sing to me, I am not doing well
Getting tired of my own words
A light shrug expressed her lack of difinitive answers. "I've tried to apply it towards the Void, recently. And to help a friend. But unlike my old Guildmaster, I'm not on a council, so I have no access to the information shared between leaders. Right now none of them - with one possible exception - would include me either, which makes it hard to do anything. Nor am I the kind of strong that I can dig for information on my own."

Contemplating the vanishing croissant, she pursed her lips. "I've considered taking jobs as a mercenary. I'm familiar enough with thr Wilds; guarding caravans or heading out to collect materials should be enough to keep a roof over my head." With time she could figure out something else; perhaps it was not too late to roam the way Elizabeth had. Seeing the world, detecting a need and find that she was suited to fill the void. Maea liked the idea.

Elizabeth

She hummed, twisting a lock of hair. "That would certainly make things difficult." Maybe Maea would be able to find other means of gaining information. Elizabeth wouldn't be much help, but there were always other people who were willing to share, for money, favors, or other information.

At least it seemed like Maea was intent on finding something to keep her busy. The search might also help her learn more about herself, giving her time to assess those emotions they'd discussed. It made Elizabeth smile, encouraging the idea. "I guess what works.""

They continued to talk for a while longer, discussing paths and plans until the yawning dominated the conversation. Realizing the time, Elizabeth gave the excuse of needing to find a skyship home and they parted ways with promises to meet again. She may have also grabbed another tea and croissant for the road, pleased with how the evening had progressed.
