What do you get when two ruthless assassins raise their daughter travelling through the wildest reaches of Caido? Take one look at Theea and you'll get a pretty good idea. Cheerful and tenacious in equal measure, and curious beyond all else, she began her journey on a mission to find those her mother once called family. And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. We can't wait to see where her next adventure takes her!
Congratulations, Theea!

JACK
Safrin's shrine is understandably busy, given its location in the Greatwood, and Jack has to wait until the dead of night before he can find a moment alone to visit. Arriving on silent feet and with his face bathed in the werelight of candles and the stars overhead, he lights his own offering and places it down among the others before stepping back. Tiny star shapes dance across the walls from within the holder he's placed down, and the scent of salt and citrus fills the air - the smell of Torchline, of home.
"Clearly," he murmurs, shrugging out of his coat and setting it down with a smile, "I can't get enough of seein' you lately. Might I borrow a moment? Hopefully this'll keep me from gettin' too bashed about in future."

The candlelight flickered, and the stars overhead pulsed just a fraction brighter before Safrin stepped into existence before him. The shadows curled in reverence at her feet, the faint scent of crushed jasmine and warm spice wrapping around the salt and citrus he had brought with him. She appeared effortlessly poised, lounging against the shrine’s edge as though she had been waiting for him all along. "Jack," she purred, the name rolling off her tongue like honey warmed by the sun. "If I didn’t know better, I might think you're coming up with excuses to see me." He could have given her his jacket when last they were together, but oh, perhaps he'd been a little distracted. The slow, deliberate curve of her lips was entirely too knowing, and the way she stretched, arching her back just slightly to emphasize the perfect, moon-pale curves beneath her gown, was anything but subtle.
Her gaze drifted over him, lingering in places that made her amusement deepen, before finally flicking to the offering he had set down. "Mm," she hummed, trailing a fingertip through the glow of the candle, as if tasting its warmth. Pushing herself upright, Safrin moved toward him with the same easy, languid grace with which the stars traced their slow paths across the sky. "Now, tell me," she murmured, her fingers grazing the edge of his coat before she dragged them slowly up over his chest, teasing the space just beneath his collar. "Is this all you came for..?"

"Less excuses, more unfinished business," the captain drawls, bracing himself for the cosmic storm that curls through Safrin's mind, straightening up a fraction more as she slinks closer. The appreciation in his eyes is clear enough as he takes in her moon pale curves and the way they defy gravity with their abundance and proportions, but as ever, its her thoughts he's hungry for.
Watching the pathway of her candle-warmed finger as it grazes the lapels of his coat and his chest before lingering somewhere at his throat, Jack rolls his shoulders and pointedly shoves his hands into his pockets. "Actually," he says with the air of a man who knows well to put business before pleasure, "I was hopin' there might be somethin' else you could help with. A way for me to find my way home wherever I am. Kind of like those compasses floatin' around."

Safrin’s smile turned razor-sharp, her amusement curling like stardust in the space between them. "Oh, those compasses," she echoed, her voice a decadent hum as her fingertips played idly at the base of his throat, tracing the faintest line of heat against his skin. "You mean the ones created for the Order? Infused with magic so potent that even time itself barely erodes their accuracy? Of which only a handful were ever made? Those compasses?"
The warmth of her mind unfurled against his own like the slow build of a supernova—cosmic heat licking at the edges of his thoughts, teasing, intoxicating. "That’s quite the request, Jack" she purred, dragging his name out like a caress. "Something like that would take work. Real effort." Her hand slipped downward, skating over his chest, only to press her palm flush against the firm plane of his stomach. "I suppose I could help you get there faster...if you're willing, of course."
The implication hung between them, but Safrin’s mind painted the real answer before he could even speak. It wasn’t just tasks and trials that would earn him what he sought. No, there were other ways. Other means. Ways far more enjoyable, far more consuming than running errands in her name. The heat of her thoughts swelled, her cosmic presence pressing suggestively against his, wrapping around his own telepathy like a lover’s embrace, the stars in her mind flaring brighter, pulsing in time with the way her nails dragged lightly down his torso.
"It's up to you how important it is to be able to find your way home." The flick of her lashes was coy, but the weight of her suggestion was anything but. He could play her game. Or he could take the long, arduous path of earning his prize the traditional way.
Jack can 1. give Safrin what she wants and receive a basic item now. 2. give Safrin what she wants AND be given tasks in order to get an upgraded item when he returns, or 3. complete a regular quest for a basic item.

"The very ones," Jack says with the smallest of nods, feeling Safrin's fingers at his throat like a point of fire, similar to the burn after a shot of liquor. It's enough, when paired with the swell of starlight in her mind brushing against his magic, to have his breath catching, and the raise of his eyebrow is a question that needs no answer as she expands, quite dilligently, on how to get there faster.
Having already tasted the goddess once, albeit in his dreams, one might have assumed the captain would seize a second opportunity like an addict with a drug - and one would be absolutely right, were it not for the events of the past day or so. Because for all her decadent, fiery touches, Jack is suddenly keenly aware of the memory of cold fingers clutching at his coat, of sobs shuddering through his body even though they don't belong to him, of desperate love and razor-fine sorrow. Of a woman who might shatter like glass under the weight of his decisions.
And gods, he just can't do it any more.
"I'm no stranger to hard work," he says, his voice careful and soft, as if any wrong move might have him tumbling into temptation. "And I'm learnin' that a lot of things can be important at the same time. Who knew?"
Jack chooses Option 3.

Safrin’s tut was soft, but laced with unmistakable disappointment, her fingers pausing where they rested against his stomach before slowly—regretfully—trailing away. "And here I thought you couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks," she mused, her voice rich with something between amusement and chagrin, though the latter was barely veiled beneath the silk of her tone.
Drawing back just enough to tilt her head, she studied him, the keen weight of her cosmic gaze searching the depths of his storm-blue eyes. There was something new lurking there, something she had not quite expected, and it made her pause—just briefly—before a slow, knowing smile curled at the edges of her lips. "Maybe," she murmured, almost to herself, "you’ll wear your immortality better than I thought."
Her fingers ghosted along the edge of his coat before withdrawing entirely, leaving only the lingering warmth of her presence in their wake. "Well," she sighed, her voice slipping into something wistful as her mind retreated just slightly from his, no longer teasing at the edges of his thoughts with starlit promise. "The offer is still yours to take.." The implication lingered between them, the taste of temptation still thick in the air, but Safrin did not press further.
Instead, she folded her arms, her gaze shifting from him to the offering he had left, as if considering whether or not she was still feeling quite as generous as before. "Very well," she murmured, flicking her gaze back to Jack. "Here is what you must do."
Jack has received

Raising his eyebrows and feeling quite unsure whether he's passed some test he didn't know he was taking, Jack clears his throat and subtly rolls his shoulders as if to put some unconscious distance between them. Safrin's touch still lingers, though, even through the fabric of his clothing, and he inclines his head with all the respect of a man who knows the deity before him might literally blow his mind at any given moment.
"I'll keep that in mind," he says, before his gaze sharpens as they get to the business of it all and Safrin lays out the terms for his return to The Ark - hopefully from anywhere in Caido one day, but this will do nicely for now. "I'll be quick. Wouldn't want to leave it too long between visits," he tells the goddess. "Thank you."
